Installing PeerMaster LAN Software
One PeerMaster Adapter: Adding the following commands to
your AUTOEXEC.NCF file will cause your PeerMaster adapter to
operate in the traditional adapter mode. In this mode, each port is
bound to the protocol stack with a different network number. The
PeerMaster adapter will not be able to switch packets between
segments. Cross-segment traffic, if any, must be routed by a server
microprocessor.
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=21 NAME=SLOT21
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=22 NAME=SLOT22
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=23 NAME=SLOT23
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=24 NAME=SLOT24
(where C: is the primary drive and PATH is the directory)
:BIND IPX SLOT21 NET=21
:BIND IPX SLOT22 NET=22
:BIND IPX SLOT23 NET=23
:BIND IPX SLOT24 NET=24
Two PeerMaster Adapters: Adding the following commands to
your AUTOEXEC.NCF file will cause your PeerMaster adapters to
operate in the VNET switch mode. In this mode, all ports are
bound to the protocol stack with the same network number. The
PeerMaster adapter can switch packets between segments in this
mode.
