Preparing the system for operation after removing and replacing the system backplane
Follow these steps to prepare the system for operation after removing and replacing the system
backplane.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. For rack-mounted systems, continue to the next step.
For stand-alone systems, the recommended operating position is to place the stand-alone system
into a vertical position. You do not need to lift the system. For instructions to place a stand-alone
system in the operating position, continue to step “14” on page 117.
CAUTION:
This system requires two people to tilt the system back into its vertical position.
3. Replace the service access cover. See Figure 110 on page 111.
a. Slide the cover (A) onto the system unit.
b. Close the release latch (B) by pushing it in the direction shown.
