A 64-bit PCI-X bus supports data transfer rates of up to 1064 MB/s at 133 MHz
clock speed and 800 MB/s at 100 MHz clock speed.
These rack-optimized platforms contain an Intel Xeon quad-core processor running
at up to 1333 MHz (quad-pumped 333 MHz) with Enhanced Intel Speedway (EIS)
technologies that allow for more efficient program execution in two-socket multi-
core applications, and advanced transfer (full speed) up to 8 MB L2 cache.
Additional standard features include a minimum of 2 GB of PC3-10600 DDR3 ECC
DRAM system memory, Dual Broadcom 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, a SAS
controller, a systems management processor, an SVGA video controller, and an
8x-24x CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive.
Model configuration:
The System x3650 M2 server can be upgraded to eight-core processing by adding
a second processor of the same type, speed, and cache size. When installing
a second CPU, system performance may be optimized by installing additional
memory.
System memory can be expanded to 128 GB by installing optional 8 GB memory
in each of the 16 memory sockets.
These models come standard with eight 2.5-inch hot-swap bays and are shipped
without HDDs to allow customers or remarketers to configure the server to meet
various storage requirements depending upon the application.
The System x3650 M2 server provides SAS storage expansion bays and four PCI
expansion slots. It supports up to two hot-swap power supplies. A single 675 watt
hot-swap power supply with auto restart capability is standard. By adding optional
available xSeries 675 W Hot-Swap Power Supply Upgrade, n+n redundancy can be
obtained.
The configuration consists of eight, 2.5-inch slim high, hot-swap drive bays, and a
5.25-inch, slim-high bay with 8x-24x CD-R/CD-RW/DVD combo drive.
System x3650 M2 server contains four, wide-bandwidth, expansion slots which
can be used as PCI-Express or PCI-X expansion slots.
Two PCI-Express low-profile card slots.
Two PCI Express card slots (or optionally, two PCI-X 64 bit, 133 MHz slots): one
full and one half length, both full height.
The System x3650 M2 server standard features include:
Up to a 1333 MHz front-side bus Xeon quad-core processor with up to 8 MB ECC
advanced transfer L2 cache
Second socket for additional quad-core Xeon processor
Memory subsystem consists of DDR3 advance memory DIMMs with ECC Chipkill
memory for error correction
An SVGA controller
An integrated systems management processor
A SAS/SATA/SSD controller
Dual Broadcom 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports
A 8x-24x CD-R/CD-RW/DVD combo drive
One 675-watt voltage-sensing, worldwide power supply
Time of Day clock and battery
Standard Device Ports/Connectors:
Two SVGA ports
Two Ethernet ports using RJ-45 connector
One high-speed serial/asynchronous port (NS16550A compatible)
Four external USB ports (two front, two rear)
