Installability
The System x3650 M2 server requires about 20 minutes for installation. Installation
includes unpacking, setting up, and powering on the system. Additional time is
required to install an operating system, additional adapters, or features.

The System x3650 M2 server system is shipped as a single package. Other items
are in zipped bags or boxes.
Security, auditability, and control
Security and auditability features include:
• Power-on and privileged access password functions control access to the data and
server setup program on the server.
• Set unattended boot mode allows the system keyboard to be locked to all entries
except the password and at the same time allows other computers on the network
to access the system disk drive.
• Selectable boot sequence can be used to prevent unauthorized installation of
software or removal of data from the diskette drive.
The servers are intended to be installed in a rack and secured in a rack. It is a
customer's responsibility to ensure that the server is secure to prevent sensitive
data from being removed.
The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security
features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems
and communications facilities.

General product/system description
The System x3650 M2 server systems are enterprise LAN servers using industry-
standard architectures. They contain PCI-Express bus architectures and 32-bit/64-
bit PCI bus architectures:
• The x4 lanes PCI-Express supports aggregate bandwidth of 2 Gbytes/sec. The x8
lanes PCI-Express supports aggregate bandwidth of 4 Gbytes/sec.
