The primary function of the IDeaPLAY J8 is to jump-start vehicles with a dead or low battery. It is capable of jump-starting gas engines up to 7.0L and diesel engines up to 5.5L. The device utilizes a Smart Clamp Cable that connects to your vehicle's 12V battery terminals, providing the necessary charge to start the engine.
Beyond jump-starting, the J8 also serves as a portable power bank. It features two USB output ports (Output 1: 5V/2.1A, Output 2: 5V/1A) that allow you to charge various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and more. The device itself is charged via a USB-C input port.
An integrated LED flashlight is another useful feature, offering three modes: strong lighting, strobe, and SOS. This can be particularly helpful in emergency situations or when working in low-light conditions.
To jump-start your vehicle, first ensure the J8 has at least 60% charge. Connect the battery clamp head to the Smart Jump Clamps Port on the J8. The LED light on the battery jumper clamps lead will indicate the connection status: green for correct connection and sufficient charge, red for incorrect connection or insufficient charge. If the light is red, disconnect, check the charge, and try again. Once the light is green, you can attempt to start your vehicle. If the vehicle doesn't start after 30 seconds, the LED light will flash alternately red and green, indicating a need to wait before trying again. Always disconnect the jump starter after successfully starting the vehicle.
To charge your electronic devices, turn on the J8 using the On/Off switch. Select a suitable charging cable and insert one end into either of the USB output ports (Output 1 or Output 2) on the J8. Insert the other end of the cable into the input port of the device you wish to charge. Press the power button to initiate charging. The LCD screen will display "OUT" along with the output current and remaining charge percentage.
To activate the LED flashlight, turn on the J8 with the On/Off switch, then press the power button for 3 seconds. The flashlight will turn on in strong lighting mode. When jump-starting, do not allow the metal teeth of the red clamp to touch the metal teeth of the black clamp.
