Function Description:
The primary function of the HYYP IP Connect Module is to bridge the X-Series alarm panel to the HYYP cloud platform. This enables remote monitoring and control of the alarm system from anywhere, at any time, in real-time, through the HYYP Home mobile application. It facilitates reporting of alarm events to a central monitoring station (HYYP Base Station) and provides users with peace of mind by offering awareness of their home or business security status. The module supports both Ethernet and WiFi connectivity, with the WiFi module taking precedence if installed, rendering the Ethernet port ignored.

- Connectivity:
- Serial Communication: Connects to the X-Series panel via a provided serial cable. The red wire on the X-Series panel should be closest to the panel's heat sink for proper connection.

- Ethernet: Requires an Ethernet cable connected to the network.
- WiFi: Built-in WiFi module for wireless network connectivity. Requires a WPS-enabled router for easy setup.
- IP Address Assignment: The module can only obtain an IP address from a DHCP server; it does not support static IP addresses.

- Panel Comms LED: Flashes during communication with the X-Series Panel.
- Network Comms LED: Flashes during communication on the network.
- Server Auth LED: On when successfully connected to the HYYP platform.

tick.meraka.csir.co.za (Destination Port 53 & 54) using the DNS server provided by DHCP.
- NTP for time synchronization (Destination Port 123).

- MQTT encrypted communication to
mqtt.trintel.co.za on port 8883 (from v1.11). If connection on 8883 fails, it falls back to standard MQTT port 1883.
- None of these ports or IP addresses must be blocked for proper operation.
Usage Features:
- Easy Installation: The module is designed as a plug-on component for X-Series alarm panels, simplifying the installation process. Wiring involves connecting 12V power and a serial cable.
- WiFi Connectivity (WPS): For WiFi setup, users simply power the module and, once the Panel Comms, Network Comms, and Server Auth LEDs flash in a clockwise sequence, press the WPS button on their router.
- HYYP Home Mobile App:
- Installation: Available on the Google Play Store (search for "HYYP Home").
- Account Registration: Users sign up or log in, then register their HYYP IP Connect module by clicking "I have a new HYYP Hub."
- Site Setup: Users name their site, choose a site color for easy identification of multiple sites, and enter the module's unique ID number or scan its barcode.
- Device Synchronization: The app prompts users to synchronize the device, which involves entering a specific installer programming location (196) on the alarm panel and pressing a button on the HYYP unit or sending a sync command from the keypad.
- Location Details: Users provide the physical address where the HYYP unit is installed.
- Remote Monitoring and Control: Once synced, the app provides remote access to monitor and control the alarm system.
- Installer Programming: Location 196 in the installer programming menu is crucial for authorizing the HYYP serial connection and enabling the HYYP Home app functionality. Location 61 (and subsequent partition locations) is used to enter the account code issued by the control room.
Maintenance Features:
- LED Diagnostics: The four LED indicators (Power, Panel Comms, Network Comms, Server Auth) provide immediate visual feedback on the module's operational status.
- Error Codes: If the Server Auth and Network Comms LEDs flash the same number of times, it indicates an error. The number of flashes corresponds to specific error conditions:
- 1 flash: System error – indicates the unit may need replacement.
- 2 flashes: Cannot initialize Ethernet port.
- 3 flashes: Cannot get IP address from DHCP server.
- 4 flashes: Cannot connect to the Time server.
- 5 flashes: Unable to log on to the HYYP platform.
- 6 flashes: Unable to register on the HYYP platform.
These error codes assist in quick troubleshooting and diagnosis of connectivity or system issues.
