  If your iHome Portable Speaker unit isn't responding or powering on, make sure the AC adapter is properly plugged into both the wall outlet and the power supply jack on the back of the dock. Also, verify that the wall outlet is functioning correctly by plugging in another device, and ensure any associated power switch is turned on. If using battery power, charge the internal battery until the battery indicator glows steadily. If docking an iPod/iPhone, ensure you're using the correct dock insert for your device and that it's properly seated, free from obstructions or cases.

  If your iPod/iPhone isn't responding to the iHome Portable Speakers, first, remove your iPod/iPhone from the dock and check for any obstructions on the connectors, then reseat it. If the issue persists, try upgrading the software on your iPod/iPhone via iTunes. If your iPod/iPhone is locked up, ensure it is working properly before docking it into the unit. Note that the unit cannot control 1st or 2nd generation iPods, iPod shuffles, or other devices; use the Line-in jack to play these devices instead.

  If your iHome Portable Speaker unit is operating erratically, it may require a reset. To do this, insert the end of a paperclip or similar object into the Reset port located next to the AC jack, and press in for a few seconds. Note that this will restore the unit to its factory default settings and overwrite any current settings.

  If your iPod/iPhone does not come on immediately when docked to iHome Portable Speakers, it may have entered deep sleep mode if it hasn't been used for some time. Press the Menu button on your iPod/iPhone. Alternatively, the iPod/iPhone battery might be run down or too weak; charge it for about 5 minutes.
