If codes permit and a separate ground
wire is used, it is recommended that a

ground path is adequate.

fused electrical circuit is required.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. In
the event of an electrical short circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of electric
shock by providing an escape wire for
the electric current. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having a ground-
ing wire with a grounding plug. The plug
must be plugged into an outlet that is
properly installed and grounded.
WARNING
Improper grounding can result in a risk of
electric shock.
Consultaqualiedelectricianifthe
grounding instructions are not com-
pletely understood, or if doubt exists
as to whether the appliance is properly
grounded.
Do not use an extension cord. If the
power supply cord is too short, have a
qualiedelectricianinstallanoutletnear
the appliance.
• If the house has aluminum wiring,
follow the procedure below:
1. Connect a section of solid copper
wire to the pigtail leads.
2. Connect the aluminum wiring to
the added section of copper wire
using special connectors and/or
tools designed and UL listed for
joining copper to aluminum.
Follow the electrical connector manufac-
turer’s recommended procedure. Alu-
minum/copper connection must conform
with local codes and industry accepted
wiring practices.
• Wire sizes and connections must
conform with the rating of the
 applianceasspeciedonthemodel
serial rating plate.
The model/serial plate is located

the range hood.
• Wire sizes must conform to the
