Pairing Instructions
iKey’s BT-80 unit is compatible with any
Apple iOS device that has built in Bluetooth®
functionality.
1. Hold down the “Power” button on the
keyboard until the light flashes red.
2. Hold down the “Bluetooth®” button on the
keyboard until the light flashes blue.
3. Press the “Settings” icon on your Apple iOS
device.
4. Select “Bluetooth®” from the “Settings”
menu (Bluetooth® is the third choice in the
menu).
5. Your Apple iOS device is now in
‘discoverable’ mode. Initially, the
“Bluetooth®” button on the BT-80 may
give a very short flash, but will then
continue to blink steadily until the unit is
paired with the device.
6. Tap “IKEY Bluetooth Keyboard” from the list
of devices that will appear on your screen.
Charging Instructions
• To charge the keyboard, insert the provided
Micro USB charging cable into the back of the
keyboard and plug the other end of the cable
into a powered USB port on any computer.
The Charging LED indicator will illuminate
orange when charging and will turn off when
fully charged. In a fully discharged state, the
battery takes 5 hours to completely recharge.
• With average usage of the keyboard, the
anticipated battery life is eight weeks.
Note: The BT-80 ships from iKey with the internal battery
fully charged and ready to use out of the box.

7. Enter the numeric code given by the wizard
using the BT-80 keyboard, then press the
“Enter” key.
8. The BT-80 will then be paired with the
Apple iOS device and is ready for use by
placing the cursor anywhere you wish to
type.

Charging the Keyboard

Insert Micro USB cable into keyboard and powered USB port. LED indicates charging status. Full charge takes 5 hours.

Functionality and Features

Powering On/Off

Conserve power by holding the 'Power' button. Red LED flashes once to indicate power off. Press again to power on.

Backlight Control

Press the 'Light Bulb' button for red LED backlighting. Press two more times to increase brightness.

Standby/Sleep Mode

Entering Sleep Mode

Unit enters Sleep Mode after 10 seconds of inactivity to save power. Press any key to wake.

Signal Distance

Optimal Range

Functions up to 10 meters (~30 feet). Signal may be lost out of range but should resume upon return.
