  Reinitialize the iScan Reader and iScan Control Software. For more information, see Starting the iScan System on page 13, if iScan Reader does not initialize correctly. Reinitialize the iScan Reader and iScan Control Software, and perform a power cycle on the computer. If the scanner still fails to initialize correctly, contact Illumina Technical Support, if iScan Reader does not initialize correctly after cycling instrument power and restarting iScan Control Software.

What to do if illumina iScan is able to autoalign, but unable to scan sections successfully?

  Contact the responsible scientist to discuss the history of the assay preparation for the BeadChips and the expectation of the scientist. Evaluate the image output of nearby images using images stored in the workspace for this BeadChip. If the issue is not resolved, contact Illumina Technical Support. This can happen if problems during BeadChip preparation can result in some sections appearing too dim to perform registration and bead intensity extraction.

What to do if illumina All in One Printer iScan Control Software (ICS) displays FPGA timeout errors?

  Take a screen capture of the error and save it. Close the iScan Control Software and power cycle the scanner to clear the FPGA. Restart the iScan Control Software to see if the error repeats. If the error occurs again, contact Illumina Technical Support and schedule a field service call. This can happen because of problems with emission filter slide, excitation filter wheel, tilt motor, tray switch, and/or laser safety switch.

Why do displayed images appear too white with no detail on my illumina All in One Printer?

  Select the Auto Contrast checkbox. If images are still not optimal, readjust the contrast sliders. For more information, see Viewing Scan Results on page 41. This is because contrast is not set for optimal viewing of images.

How to fix 'Cannot initialize camera frame grabber' error on illumina iScan All in One Printer?

  Tighten connection, then restart the scanner and restart the iScan Control Software. Power cycle the scanner and/or PC as many times as necessary until the frame grabber is able to initialize successfully. This is because the camera cable on back of scanner is loose.
