This document is a general manual for ILVE range hoods, covering models IVN900X, IVN900N, IVCC900X, IVCG900, IVSG900, and IVG901X. It provides essential information regarding installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Function Description
ILVE range hoods are designed to extract cooking fumes, odors, and grease from the kitchen environment, ensuring a cleaner and more pleasant cooking experience. They can be configured for either ducted (exhausting air outside) or recirculating (filtering air and returning it to the kitchen) operation. The hoods feature various fan speeds and lighting options to suit different cooking needs and kitchen lighting requirements.
Important Technical Specifications
- Installation Height: The range hood can be installed on walls between 8" (203mm) and 9" (229mm) tall. For cook-top models, a minimum distance of 650mm between the cooking surface and the range hood is required.
- Ductwork: For ducted installations, a 6" (150mm) round metal duct is recommended. Short, straight duct runs with minimal bends will provide the best airflow.
- Electrical Connection: The appliance requires a grounded electrical supply.
- Lighting: The hoods are equipped with halogen or LED lighting. Halogen bulbs typically come in sets of 4 (10W each, total 20W). LED bulbs are also available. The lifespan of the bulbs can be extended by using them for shorter periods.
- Filters: The hoods utilize aluminum grease filters and, for recirculating mode, charcoal filters.
Usage Features
- Control Types: The range hoods offer different control interfaces depending on the model:
- Slide Control: Features a light button with short time-blue indicator flash (default set to 2, 3) and a motor button with short time-blue indicator flash (default set to 2, 3). After stopping, the light will flash for 10 seconds. The light intensity can be adjusted (25%, 50%, 75%, 100% available). A timer (delay-off function) allows setting the fan to run for 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes before automatically turning off.
- Touch Control: Allows for easy selection of low, medium, and high speeds with a touch interface. A 3-second touch can activate a delay-off timer (5 minutes).
- Push Button Control: Features distinct push buttons for light and fan speeds (1, 2, 3). Pushing the "Light" button illuminates the light, and pushing "1", "2", or "3" activates the fan at corresponding speeds.
- Electronic Switch Control with LCD Screen: Offers a more advanced interface with an LCD screen for time setting, motor on/off, and timer delay off. It includes buttons for time increase/decrease and motor on/off.
- Fan Speeds: Multiple fan speeds are available to cater to different cooking intensities, from light simmering to heavy frying.
- Lighting: Integrated lighting illuminates the cooking surface, improving visibility.
- Timer Function: A delay-off timer allows the fan to continue running for a set period after cooking, ensuring all residual fumes are cleared.
Maintenance Features
- Grease Filter Cleaning: Regular maintenance involves cleaning the aluminum grease filters. These filters can be washed in warm water with cleaning liquid or in a dishwasher. It is recommended to clean them every two months, or more frequently depending on usage.
- Charcoal Filter Replacement: For recirculating models, charcoal filters need to be replaced periodically (typically every four months) as they cannot be washed or recycled.
- Surface Cleaning: The external surfaces of the range hood should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth dampened in denatured alcohol or a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
- Light Bulb Replacement: Halogen or LED bulbs can be replaced when they burn out. This involves removing the grease filter, pressing the light fixture out of its mounting bracket, unplugging the light from the wiring harness, and replacing it with a new one.
- Oil Collector Emptying (for models with oil collector): The oil collector, if present, should be emptied and cleaned regularly. It can be removed and washed in warm water with washing up liquid or in a dishwasher.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide to help identify and resolve common issues such as the hood not turning on, poor airflow, hood vibrating, motor running but no air flow, motor stopping after a few minutes, strong cooking smell, oil dripping onto the stove, whirring sound, and lights not working. Solutions often involve checking the electrical supply, cleaning/replacing filters, tightening mounting screws, or contacting a technician.
- Safety Information: The manual emphasizes important safety information, including warnings about reducing the risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury. It advises against modifying the appliance, using it for purposes other than intended, and recommends professional installation and servicing. It also highlights the importance of proper ventilation and grounding.
- Recycling: The appliance complies with European Community directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) and should be disposed of in accordance with local legislation, preferably at a recycling center for electrical and electronic equipment.
