A-M VALVE ZONE CONTROL on pumps with internal manifolds
(M25 – M29 – M30 – M35 – M 50 – M60 – M73 – M104S – M135S)
1.1 Remove the valve covers and remove the A-M valves
from the cylinder head
NOTE: The suffix A-M means "Suction / Delivery"; in
fact, the pump valves can be used indifferently in
suction and delivery
1.2 Break down the valves into the individual elements and
proceed with their inspection; if a component is
particularly worn or damaged they will need to be
replaced.
1.3 Check the inside of the valve covers: if they show signs
of wear in the contact areas with the valve caps or
damage in the plasticization, they must be replaced.

Summary

A-M VALVE ZONE CONTROL on pumps with internal manifolds

Remove valve covers and A-M valves

Procedure to remove valve covers and A-M valves from the cylinder head for inspection.

Disassemble and inspect valves

Disassemble valves into individual elements for inspection; replace worn or damaged components.

Check valve covers

Inspect valve covers for wear in contact areas or plasticization damage; replace if necessary.

Tested control in the A-M valve zone

Check valve support surfaces

Verify A-M valve support surfaces on the head for sagging due to valve floating.

Check O-ring diameters

Inspect O-ring diameters for abrasions or grooves from liquid passage or leaks.

Replace head/covers if issues found

Replace head and/or covers if issues from points 1.3, 2.1, or 2.2 are found.

Reassembly

Replace and lubricate O-Rings

Replace and lubricate O-rings, except for pumps with cataphoresis or lamination treatment.

Reposition A-M valves

Reposition A-M valves per original scheme, noting specific placements for different pump models.

Tighten cover screws

Tighten cover screws in a crisscrossed manner, respecting specified torque values.

A-M VALVE ZONE CONTROL on pumps with external manifolds

Remove manifolds and extract valves

Procedure to remove intake/delivery manifolds and extract valves from pumps with external manifolds.

Proceed with valve checks

Perform valve breakdown and inspection as described in points 1.2 and 1.3.

Reassembly

Replace O-rings for external manifolds

Replace O-rings with grease lubrication, except for treated pumps.

Reposition A-M valves in heads

Reposition A-M valves in heads per original scheme, noting model-specific fitting instructions.

Diaphragm control and replacement

Diaphragm replacement operation and checks

Procedure for diaphragm replacement, including initial steps and subsequent checks for damage and wear.

Cylinder control

Inspect cylinders for scratches

Inspect cylinders for deep scratches; replace if found.

Disassembly and control of shaft and bearings

Remove bearing support and shaft

Remove bearing support and shaft. Follow specific procedures for M25-M50 pumps regarding shaft extraction and keyway position.

Through shaft pump procedures

Procedures for through shaft pumps: protect oil seal, tap shaft, disconnect rings, disassemble bearings, and check components.

Pump shaft control

Check the shaft surface where connecting rods work for grooves or metal deposits. Clean or replace as needed.

Reassembly of shaft and bearings

Reassemble components in reverse order, replace O-rings/gaskets, position cylinders correctly, add oil.

Air bleeding after maintenance

Procedure for bleeding air from the pump after reassembly to ensure proper functionality.

ANNEX "A" CHECKING AND REPLACING THE OIL

Level verification

How to check the oil level in the pump, including when and how to top it up.

Oil change conditions

Conditions requiring oil change, including diaphragm rupture and scheduled maintenance.

Starting the pump after maintenance

Steps for starting the pump after maintenance to ensure proper purging of air and optimal function.

Pump startup procedures

Detailed steps for initial pump startup, including pressure cancellation and speed adjustments.
