Additionally, it includes a set of function keys (F1-F12) with various functionalities, which can be accessed directly or in combination with the Fn key. A touchpad is also integrated, offering mouse-like navigation capabilities. The device is designed to enter a sleeping mode to conserve battery life when idle, and a deep sleep mode after a longer period of inactivity, with the ability to wake up by pressing any key.

Usage Features

Power On/Off: To power on the KB05111, simply toggle the power switch to the "ON" position. To power off, toggle the switch to "OFF."

Bluetooth Pairing:

  • Initial Pairing (Windows 10 Surface Pro): For the first-time pairing with a Windows 10 Surface Pro, toggle the power switch to "ON." The KB05111 will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, indicated by a flashing blue light. Alternatively, you can manually enter pairing mode by pressing two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx" in the manual) simultaneously and holding for 3 seconds.
  • Initial Pairing (Windows 8.1 Surface Pro): For the first-time pairing with a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro, toggle the power switch to "ON," then simultaneously press and hold two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx") for 3 seconds. The blue light will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  • Connecting to Surface Pro: On your Surface Pro, navigate to "All Settings" > "Devices" > "Add Bluetooth or Other Device" > "Bluetooth." The Surface Pro will display "Inateck KB05111" as an available device. Select it to connect. A steady blue light on the keyboard indicates successful pairing.
  • Troubleshooting Pairing: If you encounter pairing issues, first delete all existing Bluetooth pairing records related to KB05111 on your Surface Pro. Then, press two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx") simultaneously and hold for 5 seconds. The three indicator lights will flash 3 times, followed by a flashing blue light, signifying that the keyboard has re-entered Bluetooth pairing mode. You can then attempt to re-pair with your Surface Pro.

Indicator Lights: The keyboard features three indicator lights (Red, Green, Blue) that convey various statuses:

  • Indicator 1 (Red): Flashing red indicates the battery volume is ≤ 20% and not charging. A steady red light indicates the battery volume is ≤ 80% and charging.
  • Indicator 1 (Green): A steady green light indicates the battery volume is >20% and not charging. A steady green light also indicates the battery volume is >80% and charging.
  • Indicator 2 (Green): A steady green light indicates Caps Lock is On. When off, Caps Lock is Off.
  • Indicator 3 (Blue): A steady blue light indicates Bluetooth is Connected. When off, Bluetooth is Not Connected. A flashing blue light indicates Bluetooth Pairing/re-pairing mode. "Flash" means the light alternates between on and off quickly, 3 times per second.

Adjusting Keyboard Backlight:

  • Color Adjustment: Press two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx") simultaneously to cycle through 7 available backlight colors.
  • Brightness Adjustment: Press two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx") simultaneously to adjust the backlight brightness. There are 3 levels of brightness to choose from.
  • Automatic Backlight Off: The backlight will automatically turn off if the battery level drops below 15% or if the keyboard is left idle for two minutes. You can reactivate it by pressing any single key.

Using Function Keys (F1-F12):

  • Fn Lock: You can lock the Fn key by pressing two specific keys (indicated as "xx + xx") simultaneously. Repeating this action will unlock the Fn key. By default, the Fn key lock is disabled.
    • Fn Lock Enabled: When Fn lock is enabled, pressing a single F key (e.g., "xx") will trigger its primary functionality (e.g., F1 key's function). Pressing the combination of Fn and an F key (e.g., "xx+xx") will activate the secondary function (e.g., dimming screen brightness). This applies to all F1-F12 keys.
