Motorwaymode
Motorwaymode adjusts the light beam to re-
duce the amount of light that shines on the op-
positecarriagewayofthemotorway, andoncom-
ing traffic.
Motorwaymode is active if youare driving at a
speed above 110 km/h and do not make any
largesteering movements for at least1000 mor
if youare driving at aspeed above 130km/h.
It is not active if youare driving at speeds below
80 km/hfollowing activation.
HIGH BEAM ASSIST (LED HEADLIGHT
ONLY)
Youcan usethisfunction to set the headlights
to changebetween dipped beam and high beam
automatically.The system recognises vehicles
with their lightson, either approaching fromthe
opposite direction or travelling in front of your
vehicle, and consequently switches the head-
lights from high beam to dipped beam.
The system automatically adapts the dipped
beam headlight rangedepending on the dis-
tancetothe other vehicle. Oncethe system no
longer detectsany other vehicles, it switches on
the high-beamheadlights again.
The system’s optical sensor is located behind
thewindscreennearthe overheadcontrolpanel.
WARNING
High beam Assist does not recognise road users:
Who have no lights, e.g. pedestrians.
Who have poor lighting, e. g. cyclists.
Whoselighting is blocked, e.g. by abarrier.
In very rare cases, High beam Assist recognises road
users toolate or not at all. In this, or in similar situa-
tions, the automatichigh-beam headlights will not be
deactivated or activated regardless. There is ariskof
an accident.
Alwayscarefullyobserve the traffic conditionsand
switch off the high-beam headlights in good time.
CAUTION
High beam Assist cannot takeinto account road,
weatherortraffic conditions. High beam Assist is only
an aid. Youare responsiblefor adjustingthe vehicle’s
lighting to the prevailinglight, visibility and traffic
conditions.
In particular,the detection of obstacles canbere-
stricted if thereis:
Poor visibility,e.g. due to fog, heavy rain or snow.
Dirtonthe sensors or if the sensors areobscured.
