three-way catalyst to help reduceexhaust
pollutants and/or damagethe three-way
catalyst.
•
Keep your engine tuned up.Malfunctionsinthe
ignition, fuel injection, or electrical systems may
causeoverrichfuel to flow into the three-waycata-
lyst, causing it to overheat. Do not keep driving if
the engine misfires, or if noticeablelossofperfor-
manceorother unusual operating conditionsare
detected. Havethe vehicle inspectedpromptly by
an INFINITI Centre or qualified workshop.
•
Avoiddriving withan extremely low fuellevel.Run-
ning out of fuel could causethe engine to misfire,
damaging the three-way catalyst.
TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
(TPMS)
Thevehicle’s wheels have sensors fitted that
monitorthe tyre pressures in allfour tyres The
tyre pressure monitor warnsyou if the pressure
dropsinone or more of the tyres The tyre pres-
suremonitor only functionsifthe correspond-
ing sensors are fitted to al
lw
heels.
Information on tyre pressures
is
shown in the
vehicle information display.After afew minutes
of driving, the currenttyre pressure of each tyre
is shown in the [Serv.]menu of the vehicle infor-
mation display.
WARNING
•
If the low tyre pressure warning light illuminates
or atyre pressure-related warning is displ ayed by
the vehicle information display while driving,
avoid sudden steering manoeuvres or abruptbrak-
ing, reduce vehicle speed, pulloff the road to a
safe location and stop the vehicle as soon as pos-
sible. Driving with under-inflated tyres mayper-
manently damagethe tyres and increasethe like-
lihoodoftyre failure. Seriousvehicle damage
could occur and mayleadtoanaccident and could
resultinserious personal injury. Checkthe tyre
pressure for allfour tyres.Adjust the tyre pressure
to therecommended COLD tyre pressure shown on
the tyreplacard to turn thelow tyre pressurewarn-
inglight OFF.Ifyou have aflattyre, replaceitwith
areplacement tyre as soon as possible.
•
If areplacementwheel is fitted without an INFINITI
TPMSSensor,the TPMSwillnot function and the
lowtyre pressure warning light will flashfor ap-
proximately 1minute. The light will remain on af-
ter 1minute. Contact an INFINITI Centre or quali-
fied workshop assoon as possiblefor tyre replace-
ment and/or system resetting.
•
Replacing tyres with those not originally specified
by INFINITI could affect the proper operation of the
TPMS.
•
If youused Emergency Tyre Sealant to repair ami-
nor tyre puncture, your INFINITI Centre or qualified
workshop should checkthe TPMSsensor when re-
pairingorreplacingthe tyre (for models equipped
with the emergency tyre puncture repair kit).
•
INFINITI recommends using only INFINITI Genuine
Emergency Tyre Sealant provided with your
vehicle. Othertyre sealants maydamagethe valve
stemsealwhichcan causethe tyre to lose air pres-
sure(for models equippedwiththeemergencytyre
puncture repair kit).
CAUTION
•
The TPMSmay not function properly when the
wheels are equipped with snow chainsorthe
wheels are buried in snow.
•
Do not placemetalised film or any metalparts (an-
tenna, etc.) on the windows. Thismay causepoor
reception of the signals from the tyre pressure
sensors, and the TPMSwillnot function properly.
