If thevehicle was parked for longerthan20min-
utes, the [Tyre pressures will be displayed after
afew minutes of driving] message is shown.
After ateach-in period, the tyre pressure moni-
torautomatically detects new wheels or new
sensors. If aclear allocation of tyre pressure to
individual wheels is not possible, the Tyre pres-
sure monitoractive messageisshown instead
ofthe tyre pressure display. The tyre pressures
are alreadybeing monitored.
If areplacement wheel is fitted, for afew min-
utes the system maycontinue to show the tyre
pressure of thewheel that has been removed. If
thisoccurs, note that the value displayed forthe
position where the replacement wheel is fitted
is not the same as the current tyre pressure of
thereplacement wheel.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
warning messages
If the tyre pressure monitor detects apressure
lossinone or more tyres, awarning messageis
showninthe vehicle informationdisplayand the
yellow tyre pressure monitor warning lamp
comes on.
•
If the[Rectifytyre pressure] (yellow) messageap-
pears in the vehicle information display, the tyre
pressure in at least one tyre is too lowand must be
co
rrected at the next opportunity.Ifthe system de-
tects that new sensors have been fitted (IDsdonot
matchthose stored, and the pressure is not fea-
sible, or is lessthan14% under the norm then the
[Rectifytyre pressure] messagewillbedisplayed in
white.
•
If the[Checktyre(s)] (red) message appears in the
vehicleinformation display,the tyre pressure in
oneormore tyres has dropped significantly and
thetyres must be checked.
•
If the [Warningtyre defect] (red) message appears
in the vehicle information display, the tyre pres-
sure in one or more tyres hasdropped suddenly
and the tyres must be checked.
•
If the[Wheel sensor(s) missing] messageappears
in the vehicleinformationdisplay,one ormore sen-
sors aremissing or cannot be detected. This could
be the result of fittingareplacement wheel/tyre.
Observe the instructionsand safety notes in the
displaymessagesinthe vehicle information dis-
play.
If the wheel positionsonthe vehicle are inter-
changed, the tyre pressures may be displayed
for the wrong positionsfor ashorttime. After a
few minutes of driving, thisisrectified and the
tyre pressures are displayed forthe correct po-
sitions.
Restarting TPMS
To keep the TPMSfunctioning properly, the re-
startoperation must be performed in the follow-
ingcases:
•
When the tyre pressure is adjusted
•
When atyre or awheel is replaced
•
When the tyres are rotated
When yourestartthe tyre pressure monitor,all
existing warning messages aredeleted and the
warning lampsgoout. The monitor uses the cur-
rentlyset tyre pressures as the referencevalues
for monitoring. In most cases, the tyre pressure
monito

utomatically detect the new refer-
ence values after youhave changedthe tyre
pressure. However,you canalso define refer-
ence values manually as described here. The
tyre pressure monitorthen monitors the new
tyre pressure values.
Perform the following procedures to restartthe
TPMS.
