Allseatbelt assemblies, including retractors and
attaching hardware, should be inspected by an
INFINITI centre or qualified workshopafter any col-
lision. INFINITI recommends that allseatbelt as-
semblies in useduring acollision be replaced un-
lessthe collision was minor and the belts show no
damageand continue to operate properly.Seat
belt assemblies not in useduring acollision
should also be inspected and replaced if either
damageorimproper operation is noted.

Allchild restraints and attaching hardware should
be inspected afterany collision. Alwaysfollow the
restraint manufacturer’s inspection instructions
and replacement recommendations. The child re-
straints should be replaced if they are damaged.

It is essential to replacethe entire assembly after
it has been worn in asevere impact even ifdamage
to the assembly is not obvious.

Care should be takentoavoid contamination of
thewebbingwithpolishes,oilsandchemicals,and
particularly batteryacid. Cleaning maysafely be
carried out using mild soap and water.The belt
should be replaced if webbingbecomes frayed,
contaminated or damaged.
CHILD SAFETY
Infants or smallchildren
INFINITI recommends that infants or smallchil-
dren should be seated in achild restraint on the
rearseats if available.According toaccidentsta-
tistics, children are safer when properly
restrained in the rear seat than in the front seat.

shoulder belt without the booster seat.

Neverlet achildstand or kneel on any seat and do not
allowachild in the cargoareas while the vehicle is
moving.
PREGNANT WOMEN
INFINITI recommends that pregnant women use
seat belts. The seat belt should be worn snug,
and alwaysposition the lapbelt as low as pos-
siblearound the hips, not the waist. Placethe
