If the seat belt cannot be pulled from its fully
retracted position, firmly pullthe belt and re-
leaseit. Then smoothly pullthe belt out of the
retractor.

Pull the shoulder belt portion toward the re-
tractor to take up extraslack.Besure the
shoulder belt is routed over your shoulder
and across your chest.
Unfastening the seat belts
To unfasten the seat belt, push the button on
the buckleand guide the seat belt as it auto-
matically retracts.
Checking seat belt operation
Seat belt retractors are designed to lockseat
belt movement by two separate methods:
•
When the belt is pulled quicklyfrom the retractor.
•
Whenthe vehicle slows down rapidly.
To increaseyour confidenceinthe seat belts,
checkthe operation as follows:
•
Graspthe shoulder belt and pullforward quickly.
The retractor should lockand restrict further belt
movement.
If theretractor does not lockduring thischeckor
if youhave any questionsabout seat belt opera-
tion,see an INFINITI centre or qualified work-
shop.
Shoulder beltheight adjustment
(where fitted)
The shoulder belt anchor height should be ad-
justed to the position that is best for you. (See
“Fastening the seat belts” earlier in thissection
). The
belt should be away from your face and neck,
but not falling off your shoulder.

To adjustupward, push the height adjusterupward
to the preferred position. Youwillhearaclickafter
the adjuster passes each available position.
•
To adjust downward, squeezethe adjustment but-
ton
jA,and then move the height adjuster to the
preferred position. Releasethe adjustment button

WARNING
•
Afteradjustment, releasethe adjustment button
and then trytomovethe shoulder belt down to
make sure that it is securely fixedinposition.
