TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
(TPMS)
The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
monitors tyre pressure ofalltyres. When the low
tyrepressure warning light is lit, one or more of
thetyres is significantly under-inflated.
The TPMSwillactivate only when the vehicle is
driven at speeds above 25 km/h (16 MPH). Also,
thissystem maynotdetect asudden drop in tyre
pressure (for exampleaflattyre while driving).
Formore details about the TPMS, see
“Tyre Pres-
sureMonitoringSystem (TPMS)” in the“5. Startingand
driving” section
.
TYRE INFLATION PRESSURE
Periodically checkthe pressure of the tyres. An
incorrect tyre pressuremayadversely affect tyre
life and vehicle handling. The tyre pressure
should be checkedwhen tyres are COLD.Tyres
areconsidered COLD after the vehicle has been

ore hours, or driven les

1.6 km (1 mile). COLD tyre pressures are shown
on the tyre placard.
Insufficient pressure canleadtoanoverheating
of thetyre and subsequent internal damage. At
high speeds, thiscould result in treadsepara-
tion andeven bursting ofthe tyre.
