CAUTION
When changing or replacingtyres, be sure allfour
tyresare of the same type (that is,summer,all season
or snow)and construction. An INFINITICentre or quali-
fied workshop maybeabletohelp youwith informa-
tionabout tyre type, size,speed rating and availabil-
ity.
Replacement tyres mayhave alower speed rat-
ing than the factoryequipped tyres, and they
maynot matchthe potential maximum vehicle
speed. Never exceed the maximum speed rating
of the tyre.
Allseason tyres
INFINITI specifiesallseason tyres on some mod-
els to provide good performanceallyear,includ-
ing snowy and icy road conditions. Allseason
tyres are identifiedbyALL SEASON and/or M&S
on thetyre sidewall. Snow tyres have better
snow traction than allseason tyres and maybe
more appropriate in some areas.
Summer tyres
INFINITI specifies summer tyres on some mod-
els to provide superior performanceondry
roads. Summer tyre performanceissubstan-
tially reducedinsnow and ice. Summer tyres do
not have the tyre traction rating M&S on the tyre
si
dewall.

icy conditions, INFINITI recommends the useof
snow or allseason tyres on allfour wheels.
Snow tyres
If snow tyres are needed, it is necessary to se-
lect tyresequivalent in size and load rating to
the original equipment tyres. If youdonot, it
canadversely affect the safety and handling of
your vehicle.
Generally,snow tyres have lower speed ratings
than factoryequipped tyres and maynot match
the potential maximum vehicle speed. Never ex-
ceed the maximum speed rating of the tyre. If
youinstall snow tyres, they must be the same
size,brand, construction and tread pattern on
allfour wheels.
Foradditional traction on icy roads, studded ty-
res maybeused. However,some states and
provinces prohibit their use. Checklocal, state
andprovincial laws before installing studded
tyres. Skid andtraction capabilities ofstudded
snow tyresonwet or drysurfacesmay be poorer
than that of non-studded snow tyres.
Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) models
CAUTION
•
Always use tyres of the same type, size,brand,
construction (bias, bias-belted or radial), and
tread pattern on allfour wheels. Failure to do so
mayresult in acircumferencedifferencebetween
tyres on the front and rear axles whichwillcause
excessive tyre wear and maydamagethe trans-
mission, transfer case and differential gears.

ONLYuse replacement tyres specified for the 4WD
models.
If excessive tyre wear is found, it is
recommended that allfour tyres be replaced
with tyres of the same size,brand, construction
andtread pattern. The tyre pressure and wheel
alignmentshould alsobe checkedand corrected
as necessary.Contact an INFINITI Centre or
qualifiedworkshop.
SNOWCHAINS
Useofsnow chainsmay be prohibited according
to location. Check the local laws before install-
ingsnow chains. When installing snow chains,
make sure that they are ofproper size for the
tyres on your vehicle and are installedaccord-
ingtothe chain manufacturer’s instructions.
Usechaintensionerswhen recommended by the
snowchain manufacturer to ensure atight fit.
Loose end linksofthe snow chainsmustbese-
cured or removed to preventthe possibility of
whipping action damagetothe fenders orun-
derbody.Ifpossible, avoid fully loading your ve-
hicle when using snow chains. In addition, drive
atareducedspeed. Otherwise,your vehiclemay
be damaged and/or vehiclehandling and per-
formancemay be adversely affected.
Snow chainsmustbeinstalled only on the front
wheels and not on the rear wheels.
