If yousecure achild on the front passenger seat in
arearward-facing child restraint system, always
ensurethatthe passenger’s air bag is disabled.
The<PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF> indicator lamp
must light up.Ifthe <PASSENGER AIR BAG ON> in-
dicatorlamp lights up, the passenger’s air bag
could be deployed in the event of an accident. The
child could be struckbythe air bag. There is an
increased risk of injury, possiblyeven fatal. See
“Child restraints” earlier in thissection
.

NEVERuse arearward facing child restraint on a
seat protected by an ACTIVE AIRBAG in front of it,
DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY to the CHILD canoccur.

SRS air bag warning light
The SRS air bag warning light, displaying
m
in theinstrument panel, monitors the circuits of
the supplemental front-impact air bag, front
seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air
bag,supplemental curtain side-impact airbags,
driver’skneeairbag,and pre-tensioner seatbelt
systems. It also monitors theair bag control
unit, crashzone sensor,satellite sensors, front
doorpressure sensors, automatic front-passen-
gerair bag deactivation system and allrelated
wiring.
After placing the ignition switch in the ON or
STARTposition, the supplementalair bag warn-
ing light illuminates. The air bag warning light
will turn off within afew seconds after the en-
gineisstarted, if the system is operational.
Have the air bag systemsand/or pre-tensioner
seat belt systems servicedatthe nearest
INFINITI Centre or qualified workshop if any of
thefollowing conditionsoccur:
•
The SRSair bagwarning light remainsonfor longer
than afew seconds oncethe engine is running.
•
The SRS air bag warning light flashes intermit-
tently.
•
The SRS air bag warning light does not illuminate
at all.
Under these conditions, the air bag systems
and/or pre-tensioner seat belt systems maynot
operate properly. They must be checkedand re-
paired.Contact an INFINITI Centre or qualified
workshop immediately.
WARNING
Ifthesupplementalair bagwarning light ison, it could
mean that the front air bag,side air bag, curtain air
bag, driver’s knee airbag, and/or pretensioner sys-
tems will not operate in an accident. To help avoid
injuryto yourself or others, have your vehicle checked
by an INFINITI centre or qualified workshopas soon as
possible.
