If yousecure achild in aforward-facing child restraint
system on thefront-passenger seat and youposition
the front-passenger seat tooclose to the dashboard,
in the event of an accident, the child could:
Come into contact with the vehicle’s interior if the
<PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF> indicatorlamp is lit, for
example.
Be struckbythe air bag if the <PASSENGER AIR
BAG ON> lamp is lit up.
Thisposes an increased risk of injuryoreven fatal
injury.
Movethe front-passengerseatas farbackaspossible.
Alwaysmakesure that the shoulder belt strap is cor-
rectly routed from the vehicle belt outlet to the shoul-
derbeltguide on thechildrestraintsystem.The shoul-
derbeltstrapmustberouted forwardsanddownwards
fromthe vehicle belt outlet. If necessary,adjust the
vehicle belt outlet and the front passenger seat ac-
cordingly.Alwaysobserve the information in this
Owner’s Manual on suitable positioningofthe child
restraintsystem in addition to the child restraint sys-
temmanufacturer’s installation instructions.
If the automatic front-passenger air bag deacti-
vation system detects that:
The front-passenger seat is unoccupied, the <PAS-
SENGER AIRBAG OFF> indicator lamp lightsup after
thesystem self-test and remainslit.Thisindicates
that the front passenger front air bag is disabled.
The front-passenger seat is occupied by achild in a
rearward-facing child restraint system, the <PAS-
SENGER AIRBAG OFF> indicator lamp lightsup after
thesystem self test and remainslit.Thisindicates
that the front-passenger front air bag is disabled.
If the<PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF> indicator
lamp remainsoffand/or the<PASSENGER AIR
BAG ON> indicatorlamp lights up, do not in-
stallarearward facing child restraint system
on thefront passengerseat. Forfurther infor-

The front-passengerseat is occupied by achild in a
forward-facing child restraint system, either the
<PASSENGER AIR BAG ON> or <PASSENGER AIR BAG
OFF> indicator
lamp lights up and remainslit after
thesystem self-test depending on the result of the
classification. The result of the classification is de-
pendenton, among other factors, the child
restraint system and the child’s build.
Move the front-passengerseatasfar backas
possible. See

.
The front-passenger seat is occupied by aperson
with asmallerbuild (e.g.ateenageror smalladult),
either the<PASSENGER AIR BAG ON> or <PASSEN-
GER AIR BAG OFF> indicator lamp lights up and re-
mainslit after the system self test depending on
the result of the classification.
If the <PASSENGER AIR BAG ON> indicator
lamp lights up, move the front-passenger
seat as farbackaspossible. Alternatively,
aperson with asmall build cansit on a
rear seat.
If the <PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF> indicator
lamp is lit, aperson with asmaller build
should not usethe front-passenger seat.
The front-passengerseat is occupied by an adult or
aperson with abuild corresponding to that of an
adult, the <PASSENGER AIR BAG ON> indicator lamp
lights up after the systemself-test and remainslit.
Thisindicatesthatthe front-passenger front air bag
is enabled.
If the automatic front-passenger front air bag
deactivation system is malfunctioning, the red
m
restraint system warning lamp in the com-
bination meter and the <PASSENGER AIR BAG
OFF> indicator lamp light upsimultaneously.The
front-passengerfront air bag is disabled inthis
case and does not deploy during an accident.

Centre. The front-passenger seat should only be
repaired at an INFINITI Centre or qualified work-
shop.
If the front-passenger seat, the seatcover or the
seat cushionisdamaged, have the necessary
repair work carried out at an INFINITI Centre or
qualified workshop.For safety reasons, INFINITI
recommends that youonlyuse achild restraint
