The coolant is too hot and the engine is no longer
being cooled sufficiently.
Observethe additional display messagesinthe
vehicle information display.
Stopthe vehicle immediately,paying attention
to road andtraffic conditions, and switch off the
engine.
Secure the vehicle against rolling away.
Leave the vehicle and keep asafe distancefrom
the vehicle until the engine has cooled down.
Check the coolant level and top up the coolant,
obser
ving the warning notes (see
“If your vehicle
overheats” in the “6. In case of emergency” section
).
Ifyouhave to topupthecoolantfrequently,have
the engine cooling system checked.
Makesure that the air supply to the engine ra-
diator is not blocked, e. g. by frozen slush.
Do not startthe engine again until the coolant
temperature is below 120
o
C. The engine may
otherwisebedamaged.
Lowfuel warning light (where
fitted)
If theyellow reserve fuel warning light is on
while the engine is running, the fuel level has
dropped into the reserve range.
Refuel at the nearest filling station.

Turn signal/hazard warning
indicator lights
The directionindicator lights will flashwhen the
turn signal switch or hazard warning flasher
switch is turned on. See

Dipped beam indicator light
Thislight comes on when the switch is turned to
the position:

The light comes on when the Electronic Stability
Programme (ESP)/Vehicle Dynamic Control
(VDC) systemhas been disabled. Thisindicates
that the ESP/VDC system is not operating.
Disabling the ESP/VDC system causes the For-
ward Emergency Braking system to become un-
availab
le

When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
this light illuminates to indicate thatthe system
is operational.The light then tuns off within a
few seconds after the engine is started.
When theESP/VDC OFF indicator light and SLIP
indicatorlight (see
“SLIP indicator light”later inthis
section
)come on with the ESP/VDC system
turned on, it alerts the driver to the fact that the
system’sfail-safemodeisoperating.Thismeans
that the system maynot be functioning prop-
erly.Have the system checkedbyyour INFINITI

ntre or qualified workshop.
If an abnormality occurs in the system, the ESP/
VDC system function will be cancelled, but the
vehicleisstilldriveable.For additional informa-

Front fog light indicator light
The light comes on when the front fog lights are
switched on (see
“Foglight switch” later in thissec-
tion
).
Glowplug indicator light
(Dieselengines)
This light comes on when the ignition switch is
in the ON position and goes out when the glow
plugshave been pre-heated.When the engine
is cold, the glow plug warm-up time will be
longer.
