High beam assist indicator
light (where fitted)
The indicator light illuminates when the head-
lights come on while the headlight switch is in
the AUTO position with the high beam selected.
This indicates that the high beam assist system
is operational. (See 2-57.)
High beam indicator light
Thislight comes on when the headlight high
beam is on and goes out when the low beam is
selected.
Rearfog light indicator light
The lightcomes on when the rear fog light is
switched on (see
“Foglight switch” later in thissec-
tion
).
Side light and headlight
indicator light
Thislight comes on when the side light or head-
light position is selected, see
“Headlight and turn
signal switches” later in thissection
for further de-
tails.
SLIP indicator light
The SLIP indicator blinkswhen the Electronic
StabilityProgramme(ESP/VehicleDynamicCon-
trol (VDC)) system is operating, thusalerting the
driver to the fact that the road surface is slip-
peryand the vehicle is nearing its traction lim-
its.
Youmay feel or hear the system working, thisis
normal.
The light will continue to blink for afew seconds
after the ESP/VDC system stopslimiting wheel
spin.
Cruise control or Intelligent Cruise Control is de-
activated.

AUDIBLE REMINDERS
Parking brake reminder buzzer
Abuzzer will sound when driving away if the
parkingbrake has not been released. Stop the
vehicleand releasethe parking brake.
Lightreminder chime
Achime will sound for 10 seconds if the driver’s
door is opened while side lights are turned on
and the ignition switch is in the OFF position.

Seat beltreminder chime
Achime will sound for approximately 120 sec-
onds if the vehicle’sspeed exceeds 25 km/h (15
MPH) andthe driver’s seat belt or front passen-

Stop/Start System reminder buzzer
(wherefitted)
The engine will shift to the normal stoppedstate
if any of the following operationsismade during
Stop/Start System activation, and the Stop/
StartSystem buzzer will sound if:
– The driver’s seat belt is unfastened and the
