wheel to select the [Assist.] menu.
2. Pressthe

fic Sign Recognition].
3.Pressthe <OK> button.
The current selection is displayed.
4. To activate or deactivate: press<OK>.
If the TSRmessage function is activated, a
detected speedlimit is automatically
displayedfor fiveseconds. Other itemsin the
vehicleinformation display are not shown
duringthistime.

Deactivating/activating ESP/VDC:
Observe the importantsafety notes on ESP/VDC

If youdeactivate ESP/VDC, ESP/VDC no longer stabi-
lisesthe vehicle. There is an increased risk of skid-
ding andanaccident.
Only deactivate ESP/VDC in the situationsdescribed
in the following.
It maybebest to deactivate ESP/VDC in the fol-
lowingsituations:
•
When using snow chains.
•
In deep snow.
•
On sand or gravel.

ESP/VDC is deactivated if the
m warning
lightinthe combination meter lights up con-
tinuously when the engine is running.
If boththe
m warning light and m warning
light are lit continuously,ESP/VDC is not avail-
able duetoamalfunction.
Activating/deactivating Forward Emergency
Braking:
1. Pressthe
m or m buttononthe steering
wheel to select the [Assist.] menu.
2. Pressthe
m or m buttontoselect [Emer-
gency Brake].
3.Pressthe <OK> button.
The current selection is displayed.
4. To activate/deactivate: pressthe <OK> but-
ton again.
When Forward Emergency Braking is deacti-
vated, the
m symbol appears in the ve-
hicleinformation displayinthe assistance
graphic display.
