Overview

The Vintage 3-Speed Bluetooth Turntable, Model ITVS-1500, is a portable audio device designed for playing vinyl records and streaming music wirelessly via Bluetooth. Housed in a stylish, suitcase-style enclosure, it offers a blend of classic record player functionality with modern connectivity.

Function Description

The primary function of this device is to play vinyl records at three different speeds: 33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM. This versatility allows users to enjoy a wide range of vinyl formats, from LPs to singles. The turntable features a platter and a tone arm with a stylus cartridge, which is essential for reading the grooves of a record. A lift lever is provided to safely raise and lower the tone arm, preventing damage to both the record and the stylus. For 45 RPM records, a dedicated adaptor is included and can be stored conveniently on the unit.

Beyond vinyl playback, the ITVS-1500 incorporates Bluetooth connectivity, enabling it to act as a wireless speaker for external devices. Users can pair their smartphones, tablets, or computers with the turntable to stream digital audio. This feature offers a convenient way to enjoy a modern music library through the turntable's built-in speakers.

Additionally, the turntable includes a LINE IN (AUX-IN) jack, allowing for a wired connection to external audio sources such as personal CD/MP3 players or mobile phones. This provides an alternative for playing audio from devices that do not support Bluetooth. For private listening, a headphone jack is also integrated, which mutes the built-in speakers when headphones are plugged in. The unit is powered by an AC/DC adaptor, ensuring stable operation.

Usage Features

Operating the turntable is straightforward. To begin, the user lifts the buckle on the front and opens the lid. The unit is powered on by turning the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB clockwise, which also serves as the volume adjustment. A red LED indicates that the turntable is on.

When initially powered on, the turntable automatically enters Bluetooth mode, signaled by an audible beep. To connect an external device, the user activates Bluetooth on their device and selects "Vintage Turntable" from the available pairing names. An audible beep confirms a successful connection. The volume can then be adjusted using the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB. It's important to note that Bluetooth connectivity is automatically disconnected when the tone arm is moved over a record, as the turntable prioritizes vinyl playback. Once the tone arm is returned to its clip, the unit reverts to Bluetooth mode.

For playing records, the user places a record on the turntable platter and selects the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the SPEED SELECTION SWITCH. If playing a 45 RPM record, the included 45 RPM adaptor should be used. The tone arm is released by opening the TONE ARM CLIP. The lift lever is then pushed backward to raise the arm, allowing the user to gently position it over the desired part of the record. Pushing the lift lever forward slowly lowers the tone arm onto the record, initiating playback. The turntable platter starts spinning as soon as the tone arm is moved toward the record. The volume is controlled via the VOLUME CONTROL KNOB. A key feature is that the tone arm automatically stops at the end of a record, requiring the user to manually return it to the arm-rest.

To use the LINE IN (AUX-IN) function, a detachable AUX cable (not provided) is plugged into the LINE IN jack on the turntable and the headphone or line out socket of the external audio source. Powering on the unit and adjusting the volume is done in the same manner as for other functions. When AUX-IN is active, both turntable and Bluetooth functions are automatically deactivated.

For headphone listening, simply plug headphones into the dedicated jack. This will automatically silence the built-in speakers, allowing for a private audio experience.

Maintenance Features

The primary maintenance task for this turntable involves replacing the stylus needle. This is a user-serviceable part, and the manual provides clear instructions for its replacement. To remove the old stylus, a screwdriver is used to push downward on the tip of the stylus in direction "A," followed by pulling the stylus forward and pushing downward. Caution is advised to avoid applying excessive force, which could damage or break the stylus.

Installing a new stylus involves holding its tip and inserting it by pressing as shown in direction "B." The stylus is then pushed upward in direction "C" until it locks securely into place. The manual highlights the importance of proper technique to ensure the stylus is correctly seated and to prevent damage.

Beyond stylus replacement, general maintenance includes cleaning the unit with a dry cloth and ensuring adequate ventilation around the apparatus. It is also recommended to unplug the turntable when not in use to ensure best performance and product longevity. The device is designed for household use and is not intended for commercial applications.
