Quik Bridge International Loop Receiver
Installation Sheet
Introduction
The Quik Bridge International Loop Receiver (see Figure 1)
allows you to use up to 16 learn mode wireless sensors (two
per zone) with any standard hardwire control panel. In
addition, you can use up to 45 keychain touchpads and panic
button transmitters, for a total of 61 wireless transmitters.

The receiver monitors the alarm, battery, tamper, and
supervisory status of transmitters learned into the receiver’s
eight zones.
The receiver features the following:
Spatial-diversity receiver enhances reception.
Eight programmable zone outputs (N/C or N/O).
Selectable zone supervision (programmable).
RF (radio signal) jam detection on zone 7 (optional).
Sensor tamper output summary and receiver
cover/antenna tamper on zone 8 (optional).
Two yellow trouble LEDs indicate sensor low battery and
supervisory conditions.
Support for a piezo (used for RF testing only) that
sounds the number of transmissions received from
learned transmitters.
On-board EPROM stores sensor IDs and programming
information in nonvolatile memory, if power is removed.
Selectable 1- or 4-hour RF supervisory.
Transmitter compatibility
The receiver is compatible with all current Learn Mode
sensors (433.92 MHz), panic button transmitters, two- and
four-button keychain touchpads, with the exception of smoke
detectors.
Control panel compatibility
The receiver is compatible with control panels designed with
hardwire loops where the loop negative is ground (common-
loop ground).
The receiver is not directly compatible with powered loops
(two-wire smoke detector loops and glassbreak detector
loops). If the loop on the control panel can power a device, it
must not be connected directly to the loop receiver. Instead,
a relay is required when connecting to powered loops.
Compatibility testing
Typically, hardwire loops have the negative (-) side of the
loop common with ground. If this is true, and the loop is
nonpowered, the loop should be compatible with the
receiver.
Although most control panels are compatible with the
receiver open collector outputs, each loop should be tested
for compatibility before connecting receiver outputs to the
control panel loop outputs. If the receiver is not directly
compatible with a control panel loop, you can use a relay to
establish compatibility.
To check if the negative side of the loop is common to control
panel ground, do the following:
1. Turn off or remove control panel power and disconnect
the back-up battery.
2. Use an ohmmeter and measure the resistance between
the negative side of the loop and panel ground. If the
resistance is zero or close to zero, this loop should be
compatible with the loop receiver. If the resistance is not
zero, a relay is required for this loop.
Test the compatibility for all loops that you are going to
connect to the receiver.

Overview

The Quik Bridge International Loop Receiver (model numbers: 60-660-43, 60-660-43-EUR, RXI4N8) is a wireless receiver designed to integrate with standard hardwire control panels. It operates at a frequency band of 433.050 MHz - 434.790 MHz. This device allows the use of up to 16 learn mode wireless sensors (two per zone) and up to 45 keychain touchpads and panic button transmitters, supporting a total of 61 wireless transmitters.

Function Description

The receiver monitors alarm, battery, tamper, and supervisory status from learned transmitters across its eight zones. It features a spatial-diversity receiver for enhanced reception and eight programmable zone outputs (Normally Closed or Normally Open). Zone supervision is selectable, and RF (radio signal) jam detection is available on zone 7. A sensor tamper output summary and receiver cover/antenna tamper are provided on zone 8. Two yellow trouble LEDs indicate sensor low battery and supervisory conditions. The device supports a piezo for RF testing, which sounds the number of transmissions received from learned transmitters. On-board EPROM stores sensor IDs and programming information in nonvolatile memory, ensuring data retention even if power is removed. RF supervisory can be set to either 1 or 4 hours.

Usage Features

Receiver Operation Modes:

  • Program Mode: Activated when the Program Mode DIP switch is up. In this mode, the ADV (advance) switch cycles through zones for programming, and the SEL (select) switch selects zone or trouble output for programming. The tamper switch cycles through programming areas: Learn/delete transmitters, Configure zone/trouble outputs N/O or N/C, and Enable/disable zone supervision or keychain momentary/maintained output.
  • Run Mode: Activated when the Program Mode DIP switch is down. In this mode, LEDs indicate alarm, low battery, and supervisory failure conditions. If no transmitters are learned into zone 8, the receiver tamper switch is active, triggering a tamper alarm on zone 8 if the cover or antenna is removed.

LED Indicators:

  • Eight red zone LEDs.
  • One green power LED.
  • One yellow low battery LED.
  • One yellow supervisory LED.
  • Run Mode LED Indications:
    • Alarm Status: Zone LEDs turn on for open (in alarm) zones, remain off for closed or unused zones.
    • Transmitter Low Battery: Yellow low battery LED flashes every three seconds, in sync with at least one zone LED, when one or more transmitters report a low battery.
    • Transmitter Supervisory: Yellow supervisory LED flashes every three seconds, in sync with at least one zone LED, when one or more transmitters fail to report for one or four hours.
  • Power LED/Self Tests: Green power LED turns on steady when power is applied and self-tests pass. It blinks once each time a signal is received from a transmitter. If self-test fails, the power LED does not turn on, and trouble LEDs flash alternately.

Outputs:

  • Zone Outputs (1-8): Open-collector transistors configurable as N/C or N/O. When a learned transmitter activates, the corresponding zone output switches to the alarm state for at least three seconds.
  • Zone 7 (Receiver Jam Detect): Trips when the receiver detects a constant signal for 30 seconds (jam condition), if no transmitters are learned into zone 7. Disabled if transmitters are learned into zone 7.
  • Zone 8 (Receiver Cover/Antenna Tamper and Sensor Tamper Summary): Trips when the receiver cover or antenna is removed, or any learned transmitter's tamper switch is tripped, if no transmitters are learned into zone 8. Disabled if transmitters are learned into zone 8.
  • Trouble Outputs:
    • B (Low Battery Summary): Activates when a learned transmitter sends a low battery signal, remaining in alarm until a good battery signal is received.
    • S (Supervisory Failure Summary): Switches to alarm state if a learned supervised transmitter fails to report for one or four hours, remaining until the transmitter reports.
  • T (Test/Piezo Output): Momentarily supplies 5 VDC each time a transmitter sends an alarm signal. Used for RF testing with an optional piezo.

Keychain Touchpads:

  • Supports up to 45 keychain touchpads.
  • All learned keychain touchpads control the same zone outputs.
  • Zone 1 (Lock + Unlock): Simultaneous keypress learned into zone 1 causes a momentary alarm. Can also learn two additional sensors. Total panic buttons and keychain touchpads in zone 1 cannot exceed 45.
  • Zone 2 (Lock or Unlock): Provides a maintained (toggle) output response. Typically used for a maintained keyswitch on the control panel.
  • Zone 3 (Lights), Zone 4 (Star), Zone 5 (Lock), Zone 6 (Unlock): These keypresses switch their respective zone outputs. Outputs can be configured for momentary (default) or maintained (toggle) response.

Programming Features:

  • Learning Transmitters: In program mode, slide DIP switch up. Press ADV until desired zone LED flashes. Press SEL to select the zone. Trip the transmitter. For sensors with tamper switches, remove the sensor cover. For keychain touchpads, press the specific button combination (e.g., Zone 1: lock and unlock, Zone 3: lights).
  • Deleting Transmitters: In program mode, slide DIP switch up. Press ADV until desired zone LED flashes. Press and hold SEL for five seconds.
  • Configuring Zone/Trouble Outputs N/O or N/C: In program mode, slide DIP switch up. Press tamper switch once. Press ADV until desired zone LED turns on. Press SEL to change configuration (LED on = N/C, LED off = N/O). For trouble outputs, press ADV until all zone LEDs are off (nine presses).
  • Configuring RF Supervision: All eight zones default to RF supervised. In program mode, slide DIP switch up. Press tamper switch twice. Press ADV until desired zone LED turns on. Press SEL to change configuration.
  • Keychain Touchpad Zone Output Responses: Zone outputs 3 through 6 can be set for momentary or maintained (toggle on/off). In program mode, slide DIP switch up. Press tamper switch twice. Press ADV until desired zone LED (3 to 6) turns on. Press SEL to change response (LED off = maintained, LED on = momentarily).

Installation Guidelines:

  • Leave 10 in. (25 cm) above the receiver for the antenna.
  • Avoid moisture.
  • Avoid excessive metal or electrical wiring; if unavoidable, mount on metal with the antenna extending above the metallic surface.
  • Do not install within 3 meters of another receiver.
  • Do not install wireless sensors within 31 cm of the Quik Bridge receiver.
  • Requires a Phillips screwdriver, small standard screwdriver, 12 to 22 gauge stranded wire, 12 VDC power supply, and EOL resistors. Optional piezo for sensor testing.

Maintenance Features

RF Reception Test:

  • Can be tested by counting LED flashes or beeps from an attached piezo beeper.
  • Ensure DIP switch is down (run mode).
  • Trip all sensors and observe LED flashes (7-8 beeps/flashes for sensors, 2 beeps/flashes for 1-button keypads, 8 beeps/flashes for 2-button keypads).
  • For piezo test, connect beeper between test output (T) and ground (GND).

Securing the Cover:

  • Install two self-tapping screws (included) on top of the cover to prevent accidental tamper alarms.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • CE Certification: TUV 0123, compliant with EN50130-4(1995)+A2(2003) for safety, EN 60950-1:2001 for radio, and EN300220-3 v1.1.1 (09-2000) for radio.
