8 Telephone use
Your hearing aid allows you to use the telephone as you normally do. However,
finding the optimal position for your telephone may require practice.
The following suggestions may be helpful:
1. Hold the telephone up to your ear.
2. Hold the telephone towards the top of the ear (closer to where the
microphones are).
3. If whistling occurs, it may take a few seconds of holding the telephone
in the same position before the hearing aid eliminates the feedback.
4. Whistling may stop by holding the telephone slightly away from the ear.
i
NOTE: Depending on your individual needs, your hearing care professional may activate a pro-
gramme specifically for telephone use.

NOTE: If you have two hearing aids with the Push button synchronization enabled, programme
changes to one hearing aid automatically repeats in the second hearing aid. When you change a
programme in one hearing aid, it responds with one or more beeps. The same number of confir-
mation beeps in the second aid follow. This Push button synchronization can also be configured
to allow one side to control volume increase and the other side to control volume decrease. The
volume changes to one hearing aid are repeated on the other side to keep the levels the same.
