What to do if my Ironton 750131 Water Pump fails to prime?
    • D
      Dale WilsonAug 4, 2025
If your Ironton Water Pump fails to prime, several factors could be at play. Start by ensuring the priming chamber has enough water; if not, add more. Check for air leaks in the suction line joints, looking for loose screws or broken hoses. Examine the quick coupling gaskets for wear and replace them if needed. Tighten or replace any loose or broken hose clamps. If the priming chamber is overheated, pour cold water into it or allow it to cool. Ensure the engine speed isn't too slow, and increase it if necessary. Lastly, inspect the volute, impeller, and mechanical seal for wear or breakage, replacing any compromised components.

Why does my Ironton Water Pump have low capacity?
    • R
      Ryan PerkinsAug 19, 2025
If your Ironton Water Pump has low capacity, start by checking for a clogged suction hose and clear any obstruction. Also, clear the suction strainer if it's dirty. Straighten any kinks in the suction and discharge hoses that may be restricting flow. Ensure the suction lift isn't too high by moving the pump closer to the water surface. Increase the engine speed if it's too low. Replace the mechanical seal if it's worn or broken. For reduced engine performance, consult the engine’s Owner’s Manual. Finally, remove any clogs from the impeller and replace the impeller if it is worn.
