  The starter motor might not be working for several reasons. Ensure the brake pedal is depressed and the PTO lever is in the OFF position. Ensure the throttle lever is in the intermediate position and replace the engine oil with one of lower viscosity if it is too high. Finally, clean the air-cleaner if it's clogged. If the issue persists, consult your dealer as there may be insufficient compression, incorrect injection timing or clogged injection nozzles.
