Movement
Use
Power reserve
Your Reverso Grande GMT watch is endowed with an 8-day
power reserve, during which time it can operate without any
need of winding.
Winding
Crown in position 1.
Winding is performed by turning the crown clockwise and
is completed when the hand of the power-reserve indicator,
located on the back dial (at 2 o’clock) is on 8.
No buffer stop will indicate that the movement is comple-
tely wound, because excess winding is absorbed by slipping-
springs. This prevents you from damaging the gear-train.
Setting the hour and minutes on the front dial
Pull the crown out to position 3.
Move the hands forward clockwise until the desired time is
displayed, taking into account the day/night indication at 2
o’clock.
When the operation is completed, push the crown back to
position 1.
Rapid date adjustment
Pull the crown out to position 2.
Turn the crown clockwise until the correct date is displayed.
Then push the crown back to position 1.
N.B.: Date correction should not be performed between
10.00 pm and 3.00 am. During that period the automatic
date-change mechanism is already in action.
Adjusting the second time zone (back dial)
In the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) system used practi-
cally throughout the world, the earth is divided into 24 time
zones, each corresponding to 15 degrees’ longitude (see table
below).
In each of these time zones, the ofcial time is the same and
it changes by one hour when moving from one zone to the
next.
Setting out from the Greenwich meridian, the central or 0
point of time-zones, 12 zones have been dened from +1
to +12 hours moving eastward and 12 others from 0 to –11
hours moving westward.
The Reverso Grande GMT model features two complications
on its back dial, linked to the GMT system :
- It can display a second time zone complete with the
24hour indication specifying whether it is day or night.
- In the GMT indication at 7 o’clock, it also automatically
displays the difference between the time zone hour on the
back and the GMT time reference.
