How to troubleshoot electrical power issues with my Jamestown Pellet stove?
    • J
      Jennifer EricksonSep 12, 2025
If your Jamestown Pellet stove isn't getting power when you turn the On/Off switch to ON, here's what to check: * Make sure the power cord is plugged into a 3-prong grounded outlet. * Verify the circuit breaker is ON. If it trips again, have an electrician inspect your home's circuits for overloads. * Inspect the 10-amp fuse on the control board and replace it with a 10-amp fast-acting fuse if it's burnt out. If it burns out again, contact your dealer to check the stove's wiring for faults. * The On/Off switch might be defective, or there could be other wiring issues inside the stove. In this case, it is best to have your dealer inspect the stove's wiring system.

Why is the fuel feed rate fluctuating on my Jamestown J1000B?
    • J
      Jacqueline GordonAug 23, 2025
If the fuel feed rate and convection fan speed on your Jamestown Pellet stove are fluctuating, here are a few things to investigate: * Avoid using extension cords, as they can reduce voltage. Have an electrician install a dedicated power line. * Check for voltage fluctuations in your home and ensure it's at least 110VAC. Contact an electrician or your power company if needed. * If the problem persists after checking the above, the main control board processor chip may be faulty and require replacement.

Why is the glass on my Jamestown J1000B Pellet stove blackening quickly?
    • D
      Diana Martin DDSAug 28, 2025
If your Jamestown Pellet stove's door glass blackens quickly, it's not heating well, and you see sandy globs (clinkers) in the firepot: * Increase the Draft Knob setting to achieve a bright white flame with a blue hue near the firepot. * Clean the firepot daily, ensuring all air intake holes are clear. * The pellets you're using might be of poor quality, containing excessive sand, dirt, and moisture. Consider consulting your dealer about higher quality pellets.

Why do the fans keep running on my Jamestown Pellet stove after I turn it off?
    • T
      Tracy MillerAug 31, 2025
If the exhaust blower and convection fan on your Jamestown Pellet stove continue to run even after the On/Off switch is set to OFF: * Allow the stove to cool down for about 1.5 hours, as the blowers are designed to run until the stove cools completely. * If the stove has been cold for hours, check the Low Temperature Sensor (130F/54ºC) for continuity. Replace the sensor if it shows continuous continuity. * There may be improper wiring of internal components. Contact your dealer to check and correct the wiring according to the manual.

What to do if my Jamestown J1000B Pellet stove stops feeding fuel suddenly?
    • S
      Sarah SimpsonSep 1, 2025
If your Jamestown Pellet stove suddenly stops feeding fuel and the fire goes out, even though the indicator lights are normal: * Check if the Green Light is ON. If it's OFF, toggle the On/Off switch to Off then On. Press the Reset Button. If the green light does not illuminate, it is confirmed that the high limit switch has tripped. Check fuel feed rate on High and on Low. Increase the Convection Blower LOW SPEED setting. * The auger may be jammed. Empty the fuel hopper and check the auger for foreign objects, removing any that you find.

If, in manual mode, the green light is on but the red and orange lights are off and fuel isn't feeding in your Jamestown Pellet stove: * The wall switch may be faulty. Disconnect the wires connected to the wall switch. If all indicator lights illuminate when these wires are jumpered together, the switch is likely faulty. Consult the Wall Switch Owner's Manual for more information. * The wall switch wiring might be faulty.
