What to do if the J&M 1000 Outdoor Cart experiences grain flow stoppage?
    • A
      Amber NguyenJul 28, 2025
If the J&M Outdoor Cart experiences grain flow stoppage, it could be due to a sheared bolt in the drive dog. Replace the bolt and engage the upper and lower flighting at a slow rate of speed, as drive dogs and lugs may be engaging too fast. Another cause could be folding the auger before it comes to a complete stop. Replace the bolt in the drive dog and always ensure the augers completely stop before engaging or disengaging the upper and lower flightings. Also, check for a sheared PTO key; if sheared, replace the key and tighten the set screw.

Why is the auger on my J&M Outdoor Cart not returning to the down position?
    • J
      Joseph ParkAug 4, 2025
If the auger on your J&M Outdoor Cart is not returning to the down position, it could be due to several reasons. A faulty check valve could be the cause, in which case you should replace it. Another possibility is a faulty lock and load solenoid; disconnect the power to it, and if the auger moves, the solenoid needs replacement. Also, the upper and lower flighting might be locked together, requiring adjustment of the bearing on top of the upper auger flighting to ensure a 1/8” (0,32cm) gap when the auger is engaged. Ensure the feed gate is closed, or the lock and load system isn't operating correctly, and the limit switch on the feed gate indicator assembly is functioning properly.

What to do if my J&M 1000 Outdoor Cart has excessive vibration?
    • J
      James JacksonAug 10, 2025
If your J&M Outdoor Cart is experiencing excessive vibration, it may be due to a bent auger flighting or shaft, which needs to be straightened or replaced. Alternatively, the drive shaft could be bent, requiring replacement or straightening.

What causes the auger tube to break away from the grain cart at the hinge area on a J&M 1000?
    • R
      Robert PayneAug 16, 2025
The auger tube breaking away from the grain cart at the hinge area, or a bent ram in the hydraulic folding cylinder on your J&M Outdoor Cart, is often caused by extending the upper auger in the upright position while traveling in the field. Repair or replace the folding cylinder if needed, and remember to lower the auger to the field position after unloading.

Why is the hanger bushing assembly at the top of the lower auger flighting on my J&M 1000 hot?
    • V
      Vernon BeasleyAug 21, 2025
If the hanger bushing assembly at the top of the lower auger flighting on your J&M Outdoor Cart is hot, it could be because the top of the hanger bushing assembly is rubbing against the drive dog. Loosen the two bolts and readjust the position of the hanger bushing assembly, then retighten the bolts. Alternatively, remove the lower flighting assembly and place a shim between the spline coupler and the gearbox.
