Raise the presser foot.
Press the Up/Down needle
button to raise the thread
take-up lever to its highest
position.
Threading the Machine
1 Draw the thread from the spool. Hold the upper
thread at the spool with your finger.
q Hold the thread
2 Slip the thread under the thread guide from the
right and down along the right channel.
Be sure that the thread passes between the
tension disks.

3 Then draw the thread around the bottom of the
thread guide plate.

4 Firmly draw the thread up along the left channel to
the take-up lever and down into its eye from the
right to the left.

5 Then down through the lower thread guide.

6 Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread
guide on the left.

Thread the needle from front to back by hand or
use the built-in needle threader (see page 26).
