What to do if my Jenn-Air JGD8348CDP burner won't ignite?
    • A
      Anthony EvansJul 31, 2025
If your Jenn-Air cooktop burner won't ignite and there's no spark when you turn the knob to 'LITE,' start by verifying that the cooktop is receiving 120 VAC from the wall outlet. Then, check the micro switch contacts and inspect the wiring against the wiring diagram, ensuring all connections are tight. Also, make sure the burner electrode and cap are clean. If these steps don't resolve the issue, you may need to test or replace the spark module or replace a cracked or broken electrode, electrode wire, or electrode socket.

Why won't my Jenn-Air JGD8348CDP Cooktop burners ignite?
    • K
      Keith ParrishAug 6, 2025
If the burners on your Jenn-Air cooktop won't ignite and there's no spark, the issue might be due to a poor ground on the burner cap, a weak or failed spark module, or low gas pressure. Try cleaning the burner cap. If that doesn't work, have the spark module replaced or verify the gas pressure: it should be 5” WCP for natural gas and 10” WCP for LP gas.

How to fix a Jenn-Air JGD8348CDP with no spark at the ignitor?
    • T
      Tyler WalkerAug 15, 2025
If you're experiencing no spark or random sparks at one ignitor on your Jenn-Air cooktop, the issue could stem from several causes. Start by checking for a cracked ignitor or pinched ignitor wire, and replace the ignitor lead or electrode if necessary. Also, ensure there's good continuity to the burner cap by cleaning both the cap and lead. Finally, verify the ground connection is tight and correct any breaks in the ground path from the ignitor to the unit ground.

What to do if Jenn-Air Cooktop keeps sparking after being turned off?
    • R
      Richard TateAug 22, 2025
If your Jenn-Air cooktop continues to spark even after the knob is in the OFF position, it could be due to a shorted valve switch or harness, or the switch might have slipped off the valve. Try carefully repositioning the switch on the valve, rotating it from OFF to high several times to ensure it's not broken. If that doesn't solve the problem, consider replacing the switch or harness. Note: If excessive spillovers caused the sparking, customer education is advised.
