Function Description
The DC-1100VX Series Dust Collectors are designed to capture wood dust generated by power tools such as sanders, saws, grinders, and drills. The system operates by drawing air laden with dust particles through an inlet port, where a powerful impeller separates the larger debris. Depending on the model, the air then passes through either a filter bag or a canister filter, which traps finer particles before the cleaned air is exhausted. The collected dust and debris are deposited into a collector bag at the bottom of the unit. The "Vortex Cone" particle separation system is a key feature, enhancing efficiency by improving the separation of larger particles before they reach the main filter.

Usage Features
The DC-1100VX Series Dust Collectors are designed for ease of assembly and operation.
- Assembly: The manual provides detailed instructions for assembling the base unit, motor and fan assembly, connector housing, cone assembly, and hose. Specific instructions are given for installing the different filter kits (30-micron bag, 5-micron bag, or canister filter). Casters are included for mobility.
- Electrical Connections: The units are prewired for 115V operation but can be converted to 230V. A dedicated 20-amp circuit breaker or fuse is recommended. All electrical connections should be performed by a qualified electrician.
- On/Off Operation: The machine can be turned on and off using a start/stop button located next to the motor.
- Optional Remote Control: An optional RF Remote Power Control unit (DC-RC) is available for convenient operation, allowing the user to turn the dust collector on and off remotely. This unit is rated for 115V systems up to 1-1/2HP. The remote control also features adjustable operating frequencies, useful if multiple remote-controlled devices are in use.
- Safety Features: Warnings emphasize the importance of reading the manual, wearing safety glasses/face shields, avoiding loose clothing, and ensuring the machine is unplugged during maintenance. Inlet ports should always be covered with caps if not connected to a hose to prevent injury from moving parts. Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the dust collector.
- Filter Bag/Canister Filter Cleaning: Both the filter and collector bags should be cleaned frequently. For filter bags, this involves unhooking, shaking, and cleaning the bag inside out. For canister filters, a handle allows for rotations to dislodge dust into the collection bag. Wearing a particle mask or respirator is highly recommended during cleaning due to fine dust particles.
- Collector Bag Removal and Cleaning: The collector bag can be removed by pushing its ring upwards and pulling it out at an angle. Contents should be emptied into an appropriate container, and the bag should be cleaned inside out.
- Motor Maintenance: Frequent inspections of the motor fan are recommended. Accumulations of foreign material should be blown out (with low-pressure air hose) or vacuumed to maintain normal motor ventilation.
- Grounding: The entire dust collection system, including the dust collector, hose, or ductwork, must be properly grounded to ensure safety.
