Changing the batteries - Comfort Controller
Battery life will vary according to the frequency of use, but in any case should be several months.
Always use sealed long life alkaline batteries, PP3 - 9 volts.
There is no risk of electric shock as the low voltage supply is similar to that used in torches.
1. Turn the control knob under the fire burner to OFF.
2. Remove the Comfort Controller panel by unscrewing the two screws on the front of the panel.
3. Allow the panel to be gently supported by its connecting wires. Unclip the battery connector
by pulling it off the studs on the battery.
4. Remove exhausted battery and replace, ensuring that battery + terminal is correctly
connected.
5. Refit the connector by pressing onto the battery studs.
6. Replace the battery into each holder.
7. Refit the panel into the control box and tighten the captive screws.
8. Check operation of the fire after re-lighting the pilot in the manner described in ‘Lighting the
fire’.
Dispose of spent batteries safely. Do not place in a fire or incinerator.
