Overview

The Joie litetrax™ 4 dlx is a high-quality, fully certified stroller designed for children from birth up to 22kg (approximately 48 months). It complies with Australian Trade Practices Act 1974 Consumer Protection Notice No 8 of 2007 and AS/NZS 2088:2013, ensuring safety and reliability. The stroller is designed to provide a comfortable ride and best protection for your child.

Function Description

The primary function of the Joie litetrax™ 4 dlx is to safely transport a child. It features a robust stroller frame, a protective canopy, front and rear wheels for mobility, a comfortable seat pad, an armbar for child security, and a calf support for comfort. The stroller also includes a storage basket for essentials, shoulder and waist harnesses for restraint, a cupholder, and a handle for pushing. A swivel lock on the front wheels allows for easy maneuverability or fixed direction, and a brake system ensures the stroller remains stationary when needed. A tether strap is included to prevent the stroller from rolling away inadvertently. The stroller is designed to be easily folded for transport and storage.

Usage Features

Stroller Assembly:

The stroller requires adult assembly. Key steps include:

  • Opening the Stroller: To open, separate the storage latch from the storage mount and lift the handle upwards until a "click" sound indicates it's fully open and latched. Always check that the stroller is completely latched before use.
  • Wheel Assembly: Front and rear wheels need to be assembled. For front wheels, push them into the front leg until they click into place, then pull to ensure they are securely attached. For rear wheels, push them onto the rear axle until they click, then pull to confirm security.
  • Armbar Assembly: The armbar is attached by inserting its ends into the slots on the frame until they click. To detach, press the buttons on the armbar and pull it out.
  • Canopy Assembly: The canopy is attached to the frame.
  • Cupholder Assembly: The cupholder is attached to the side of the handle.

Stroller Operation:

  • Adjusting Backrest: The backrest has 4 recline angles. To recline, squeeze the recline handle on the back of the seat and pull the backrest down. To raise it, push the backrest up. Always ensure the recline is set properly.
  • Using Buckle: The buckle is a 5-point harness system. To release, press the center button. To lock, match the waist belt buckle with the shoulder buckle and click them into the center buckle until a "click" sound is heard.
  • Using Shoulder & Waist Harnesses: The harnesses are crucial for child safety. Ensure the child is snugly secured, with the space between the child and shoulder harness about the thickness of one hand. The shoulder harness anchors (A and B) allow for height adjustment. For larger children, use anchor A and the highest slots; for smaller children, use anchor B and the lowest slots. To adjust, turn the anchor to face forward, thread it through the slot from back to front, and rethread it through the slot closest to the child's shoulder height. The harness length can be adjusted using the slide adjuster by pressing a button and pulling the waist harness to the proper length. Do not cross the shoulder belts.
  • Adjusting Calf Support: The calf support has 2 positions. Push it upwards to raise it until it clicks. To lower it, press the adjustment buttons on both sides and rotate the calf support downwards.
  • Using Front Swivel Lock: Push up the front swivel locks to fix the moving direction of the front wheels. This is recommended for uneven surfaces.
  • Using Brake: To lock the wheels, step the brake lever downwards. To release, lift the brake lever upwards. Always set the parking brake when the stroller is not moving.
  • Using Canopy: The canopy can be opened or folded by pulling it forward or back. It can be fully opened by unzipping a section and pulling it forward to protect the child from the sun. A window on the canopy allows viewing of the baby.
  • Adjusting Handle: The handle can be adjusted to different heights for parental comfort.
  • Using Shoulder Harness Cover and Crotch Harness Cover: These covers can be removed from the webbing for cleaning or adjustment and reassembled in reverse steps.
  • Using Tether Strap: The tether strap is used to prevent the stroller from rolling away. Wrap it around the handle and thread the larger loop through the smaller loop, pulling tight. Ensure the position allows easy control of the stroller when your hand is through the loop.
  • Folding Stroller: Before folding, fold the canopy. Pull the folding webbing upward, and the frame will automatically fold backward. The storage latch will automatically hook onto the storage mount, and the stroller will be folded and locked. The folded stroller can stand upright. The armbar can be used to transport the folded unit.

Accessories (May not be included in purchase):

Accessories like adapters, armbar covers, rain covers, and footmuffs may be available separately or depending on the region.

  • Use with Infant Child Restraint: The stroller is compatible with Joie infant child restraints (gemm, i-Gemm). Before use, ensure the backrest is in the lowest position and the infant child restraint is fastened. Do not fold the stroller with the infant child restraint attached.
  • Use with Joie Carry Cot: The stroller is compatible with Joie carry cot ramble. Always use the mattress with the carry cot. Do not fold the stroller when the carry cot is attached.
  • Use Rain Cover: Place the rain cover over the stroller and attach the hook and loop fasteners. Ensure the backrest is in the lowest position and the infant child restraint is fastened before using the rain cover. Always check ventilation and clean/dry it before folding. Do not place the child in the stroller with the rain cover during hot weather.
  • Use Footmuff: The footmuff provides warmth and comfort for the child.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning Stroller Frame: Use only household soap and warm water. Avoid bleach or detergent.
  • Cleaning Fabric Parts: Refer to the care label for specific instructions.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check for loose screws, worn parts, torn material, or stitching. Replace or repair parts as needed.
  • Cleaning Plastic Parts: Wipe clean plastic parts with a soft damp cloth.
  • Drying Metal Parts: Always dry metal parts thoroughly to prevent rust, especially if they have come into contact with water.
  • Sun/Heat Exposure: Avoid excessive exposure to sun or heat, as it can cause fading or warping of parts.
  • Wet Stroller: If the stroller becomes wet, open the canopy and allow it to dry thoroughly before storing.
  • Lubrication: If wheels squeak, use a light oil (e.g., Silicon Spray, antirust oil, or sewing machine oil) on the axle and wheel assembly.
  • Sandy/Dusty Environments: After using the stroller at the beach or other sandy/dusty environments, completely clean it to remove sand and salt from mechanisms and wheel assemblies.
