Overview

This document is the user's manual for the JUMAO JMC9A Ni Oxygen Concentrator.

Function Description

The JUMAO JM-10A Ni oxygen concentrator is an electronically operated device designed for individual use as an oxygen supplement in home or care facilities. It separates oxygen from ambient air to provide high concentrations of oxygen directly to the user via a nasal cannula or other methods. Clinical studies have shown that oxygen concentrators are therapeutically equivalent to other oxygen delivery systems. The equipment uses a 120V~ power source, air as raw material, and high-quality, high-efficiency molecular sieves. Through the PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) method at room temperature, it produces high-purity oxygen conforming to medical standards, ensuring a sustainable and uninterrupted oxygen supply.

Usage Features

Unpacking and Handling:

  • Check for any obvious damage to the carton or its contents upon receipt.
  • Remove all loose packing and components carefully.
  • The packing list includes: 1 unit Oxygen Concentrator, 1 piece User Manual, and 1 set Humidifier bottle.
  • Examine the exterior for nicks, dents, scratches, or other damages.
  • Always keep the concentrator in an upright position during transport to prevent damage.

Placement:

  • Select a convenient room in your house; the concentrator can be easily rolled on its casters.
  • Ensure all sides are at least 10 centimeters (4 inches) away from walls, draperies, furniture, or similar surfaces to avoid obstructing airflow.
  • Avoid deep pile carpets, heaters, radiators, or hot air registers.
  • Do not place the unit in a confined area.
  • Keep away from heat, fire, excessive water sources, pollutants, or fumes.
  • Never block air openings or place the unit on soft surfaces where it might tip or fall. Keep openings free from lint, hair, etc.
  • Do not place items on top of the concentrator.

Installation and Operation:

  • Feature View: The device includes a power switch, outlet connector, flow meter (with a knob to adjust flow rate), status indicator light (Alarm/Normal Low), humidifier bottle station, cabinet air filter, breaker, elapsed time meter, intake filter, and atomization port.
  • Breaker: Automatically cuts off power if current exceeds 10A to protect the machine and user. Can be reset after cooling.
  • Humidifier: Do not add water over the maximum level. Use pure water between maximum and minimum levels. The oxygen passes through the humidifier.
  • Prepare Work:
    • Unscrew the humidifier bottle cover, fill with purified water (or distilled water) between the maximum and minimum levels. Add medicine if prescribed by a doctor.
    • Screw the humidifier bottle absorbing connector into the cover, then insert the humidifier to the elastic belt on the left side of the unit, and connect the other end of the cannula to the oxygen outlet.
    • Plug the concentrator's AC connector into a power outlet.
  • Turning On: Press the power switch to the "I" position. A green light will illuminate after about 1 second, indicating normal function. After 4 seconds, the display will show accumulated work time.
  • Flow Rate Adjustment: Locate the prescribed flow rate line on the flowmeter. Turn the flow knob until the ball is centered on the L/min line.
  • Alarm Signal:
    • Initial Startup: Concentrator can be used during the initial 5-minute warm-up period while waiting for O2 concentration to reach maximum.
    • O2 Concentration > 85%±3%: Green light illuminates (Normal Operation).
    • O2 Concentration between 73%±2% and 82%±2%: Yellow light illuminates.
    • O2 Concentration < 73%±2%: Yellow light illuminates, intermittent audible alarm sounds.
    • Compressor Failure Alarm: Yellow light illuminates, intermittent audible alarm sounds.
    • Low/High Pressure, Cycle Failure Alarm: Yellow light illuminates, intermittent audible alarm sounds.
    • Low Flow Alarm: When oxygen flow rate is lower than 0.5L/min, yellow light illuminates, intermittent audible alarm sounds.
  • Turning Off: Press the power switch to the "O" position and unplug the AC connector from the power outlet. Use the plug device to isolate the concentrator from the supply mains.

Maintenance Features

Safety Notes for Maintenance:

  • Power should be disconnected before beginning preventive maintenance.
  • Do not service or maintain while the patient is using the device.
  • Only health care professionals or authorized/factory-trained personnel should perform preventive maintenance or performance adjustments.
  • For optimum performance, the manufacturer recommends running the concentrator for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time. Shorter periods may reduce maximum product life.

Cleaning the Cabinet:

  • Clean the cabinet at least once a month.
  • Turn off the power switch and unplug the concentrator's AC connector from the power outlet.
  • Clean the outside with a soft dry cloth, a damp sponge, or wipes with alcohol-based solution. Do not use acetone, solvents, or any other inflammable products. Do not spill liquid inside the cabinet.

Cleaning or Replacing the Filter (3 Types):

  • Clean and replace filters as often as specified. Do not operate the concentrator without filters installed or if filters are wet, as this can permanently damage the concentrator.
  • Cabinet Air Filter: Located on either side of the cabinet. Clean every half month to ensure proper running.
  • Intake Filter: Located on the left side of the concentrator. Open the access door by pressing down and pulling out the access hook. Remove and clean every half month. Washing or changing frequency depends on actual use time and environment. Replace if the filtration core becomes black, regardless of time.

Cleaning the Optional Humidifier Bottle:

  • Change the water daily.
  • Wash weekly with household detergent, then rinse under running water and dry.
  • Disinfect by immersing parts in a disinfection solution (or 1 part vinegar diluted with 10 parts water), then rinse under running water and dry.
  • To disassemble: Unscrew the humidifier bottle, take out the tube and its terminal filtration.
  • Tube Maintenance: The connection tube of the humidifier bottle can become contaminated. It is recommended to maintain/replace the internal tube once a year.

Oxygen Nasal Cannula:

  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the nasal cannula (available accessory).
  • For each new patient, the cabinet air filter should be washed or replaced, and the entire oxygen administration circuit (including nasal cannula) must be changed.

Troubleshooting Guide:

  • The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting guide for common symptoms like continuous buzzer, mirage or blobs in the nasal cannula, yellow light illumination, and red light with continuous audible alarm, outlining probable causes and solutions.
  • If problems persist or cannot be serviced by the user, contact the equipment provider.

Post-marketing Service:

  • The company is responsible for free repair or change if the concentrator cannot be normally used within half a year from delivery (or one year for commerce storage, compressor 3 years).
  • After one year, accessories and repairs are provided at a reasonable charge.
  • Repair guarantee does not cover damage from collision, water/rain entry, equipment out of gear due to water/drug, or easily damaged/consumed articles (filtration net, carpet, damping filter, tube).

Accessories and Spare Parts:

  • All accessories must be oxygen compatible and biocompatible.
  • Connectors, tubes, nasal cannulas, or masks must be designed for oxygen therapy.
  • List of accessories: Oxygen Concentrator (1 unit), User Manual (1 piece), Humidifier bottle (1 set, including connection tube).
