Do you have a question about the Kärcher A 2150 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Kärcher A 2150 is a wet and dry vacuum cleaner designed for household use, offering versatile cleaning capabilities for various surfaces. Its robust design and comprehensive safety features ensure efficient and secure operation.

Function Description:

The Kärcher A 2150 is a multi-purpose vacuum cleaner capable of handling both wet and dry dirt. It features a powerful motor housing (3) that sits atop a dirt container (6), which collects all vacuumed debris. The appliance is equipped with swivel casters (4) for easy maneuverability, allowing it to be pulled along effortlessly. An ON/OFF switch (1) controls the power, and a carry handle (2) facilitates transport, especially when navigating stairs.

For dry vacuuming, a foam filter (7) is inserted, which can also be used for wet vacuuming. For dust-free disposal of dry dirt, a paper filter bag (S2, optional accessory) can be used, which also helps keep the main filter cleaner for longer. When wet vacuuming, it is crucial not to use a paper filter bag. A float mechanism within the dirt container (6) automatically shuts off suction and increases turbine speed when the container is full, signaling the user to empty it immediately.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a suction hose (9), a suction tube (10), and a floor nozzle with inserts (11) suitable for both wet and dry cleaning. An accessory compartment (5) is integrated into the design for convenient storage of these tools. The suction hose connects to the appliance via the suction hose connection (8).

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Nominal Voltage: 220-240 V, 1~50/60 Hz
  • Fuse Protection (surge-proof): 10 A
  • Container Volume (net): 18 liters
  • Water Uptake: 8 liters
  • Fan Data (Pmax): 1200 W
  • Fan Data (Pnom): 1000 W
  • Weight: 5.5 kg
  • Class of Protection: ||
  • Mains Cable Type: H05VV-F2x0.75, 4.5 meters
  • Sound Level: 74 dB(A)

The appliance is designed for non-commercial use and should only be operated with Kärcher-approved accessories and replacement parts. It complies with relevant EU Directives for machinery, low-voltage equipment, and electromagnetic compatibility.

Usage Features:

Before first use, the swivel casters must be mounted. The motor housing is then placed on the dirt container and secured with clips, ensuring the switch faces forward. Accessories are connected to the suction hose and tube.

To switch on the appliance, insert the mains plug into a socket and turn on the ON/OFF switch. It is critical never to operate the vacuum cleaner without a filter in place.

When switching between wet and dry vacuuming, ensure that a wet filter is thoroughly dried before dry vacuuming to prevent clogging and damage.

  • Dry Vacuuming (Carpets): For dust-free emptying, using an optional paper filter bag is recommended. This also helps keep the main filter clean.
  • Dry Vacuuming (Hard Floors): Similar to carpets, an optional paper filter bag is recommended for dust-free disposal. The floor nozzle insert for hard surfaces should be attached.
  • Wet Vacuuming: Do not use a paper filter bag. If foam or liquid leaks from the appliance, switch it off immediately. When the dirt container is full, the float will close the suction opening, and the turbine speed will increase, indicating it's time to switch off and empty the container.

After use, switch off the appliance, unplug it, remove the motor housing, and empty the dirt container. The container should be cleaned after every use.

Maintenance Features:

Before any maintenance or cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the mains.

  • Cleaning the Appliance and Accessories: The appliance should not be cleaned with a water hose or high-pressure water jet to avoid short circuits or other damage. The exterior can be wiped with a damp cloth; aggressive cleaning agents should not be used. Accessories should be rinsed and dried as needed.
  • Filter Replacement: If suction performance decreases, the foam filter (7) should be cleaned under running water and allowed to dry completely before reinserting. If the filter is damaged, it must be replaced. An optional cartridge filter (S1) is available for dry vacuuming.

The Kärcher A 2150 is designed with environmental protection in mind, with recyclable packaging materials and components. Information on environmentally friendly disposal of old appliances can be obtained from Kärcher dealers. Children and adolescents should only operate the machine under supervision, and it should never be left unattended when switched on. Electrical connections in wet rooms must be made to sockets with a ground fault circuit interrupter. Explosive liquids, flammable gases, explosive dusts, or undiluted acids/solvents must never be vacuumed, nor should burning or smoldering objects.
