Overview

This document describes the Kärcher Model K 1350 High Pressure Washer, a device designed for various cleaning tasks using pressurized water.

Function Description

The Kärcher K 1350 is a high-pressure washer that utilizes a powerful stream of water to clean surfaces. It is equipped with a detergent injection tube, allowing for the application of cleaning solutions to enhance its effectiveness. The device features a trigger gun for controlling the water flow and pressure, and various accessories can be attached to adapt it for different cleaning needs. It is designed for both residential and light commercial use, capable of tackling dirt, grime, and other stubborn stains on a variety of surfaces. The K 1350 is a versatile tool for outdoor cleaning, from vehicles and patios to siding and garden furniture.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Operating pressure: 1350 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)
  • Water volume: 1.3 GPM (Gallons per Minute)
  • Voltage: 120 V
  • Amp draw: 14 AMPS
  • Water supply: The water hose must be at least 3/4 inch in diameter. The flow rate of the water supply must not fall below 2.5 GPM. The flow rate can be determined by running the water for one minute into an "empty" 5-gallon container. The water supply temperature must not exceed 104°F/40°C.
  • GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter): The unit is equipped with a GFCI for electrical safety, which should be plugged into a working outlet.
  • Extension cords: If an extension cord is necessary, it must be a 3-wire grounded cord with a GFCI. For lengths up to 25 ft, use 12/2 gauge. For lengths up to 50 ft, use 10/2 gauge. Extension cords should be suitable for outdoor use, marked "Acceptable for use with outdoor appliances," and kept away from water.

Usage Features

The K 1350 is designed for user-friendly operation with several features that enhance its usability:

  • On/Off switch: Simple control for starting and stopping the unit.
  • High pressure outlet: Where the high-pressure hose connects.
  • Water inlet with internal water filter: Ensures clean water enters the pump, protecting internal components.
  • Detergent filter: Filters detergent before it enters the system.
  • Detergent suction tube: Allows for drawing cleaning solutions from a container.
  • Dirtblaster wand: A specialized wand for intense cleaning, providing a 0° pencil jet that rotates 360° for maximum dirt cutting action. It is recommended for soft materials, siding, painted surfaces, decks, or autos.
  • High/Low spray wand: Offers adjustable pressure settings for various tasks. The high-pressure setting cleans the maximum surface area, while the low-pressure setting is used for applying detergent.
  • Wash brush: Ideal for removing stubborn dirt and stains from finished surfaces, used with detergents only.
  • Trigger gun: Controls water flow and pressure. It has a safety lock to prevent accidental operation.
  • Wash brush: A brush attachment for scrubbing surfaces.
  • Power cord: For connecting to an electrical outlet.
  • Ground fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI): Integrated into the power cord for electrical safety.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Pull out the locking slide from the right side of the trigger gun handle.
  2. Insert the small end of the high pressure hose into place.

  6. Turn on the pressure washer (I). The motor starts only if the trigger of the gun is pulled and shuts off when the trigger is released.

Working with Detergents: The K 1350 can operate at two pressures: high pressure for cleaning and low pressure for applying detergents. To apply detergents, the user must be operating at low pressure.

  1. Install the Wash brush or the high/low spray wand. Push in and turn clockwise to lock into position. Then set wand tip to the low pressure setting (-).
  2. Fill a container with Kärcher detergent. Place the filter end of detergent suction tube into the container.
