Overview

This document is an owner's manual for Kaysun DC Inverter Free air conditioners, covering models KMF-200 DN2, KMF-224 DN2, and KMF-260 DN2.

Function Description

The Kaysun DC Inverter Free air conditioner system comprises an indoor unit, an outdoor unit, and a connection pipe. It is designed for both cooling and heating operations, providing climate control for various indoor environments. The system utilizes DC inverter technology, which allows for variable compressor speed, leading to improved energy efficiency and more precise temperature control compared to traditional fixed-speed systems.

The outdoor unit features a main control board with a "Force Cooling Control" button (SW1) and a "Display control button" (SW2). Pressing SW1 once initiates a force cooling mode, where the outdoor unit operates at 62Hz and the indoor fan runs at high speed. Pressing it again exits this mode. SW2 serves as a point inspection function, displaying various operational parameters on a digital pipe on the main control board with successive presses.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual outlines the operational ranges for both cooling and heating modes:

  • Cooling Operation:
    • Outdoor temperature: -15℃ to 46℃
    • Room temperature: 21℃ to 32℃
  • Heating Operation:
    • Outdoor temperature: -15℃ to 24℃
    • Room temperature: 0℃ to 28℃

The system incorporates protection equipment that stops the air conditioner under certain conditions, such as blocked air inlets/outlets, strong winds during cooling, or excessive dust/choked air outlets during heating. A five-minute protection feature prevents immediate restarts after operation. The A-weighted sound pressure level is stated to be below 70 dB.

For start-up, the outdoor unit requires a minimum demand of 20% of its capacity for models less than 40kW, and 10% for models 40kW or greater. The power cord type designation is H07RN-F.

The manual also provides a comprehensive list of malfunction codes for the outdoor unit, categorized by "Failure or Protection Type" and indicating whether the issue is "Recoverable" or "Irrecoverable," along with a specific "Fault Code." Examples include:

  • H0: COMM. Fault between DSP and chip (Recoverable)
  • H1: COMM. Fault between communication chip and main chip (Recoverable)
  • H4: 3 times of P6 protection in 30 minutes (Irrecoverable)
  • E2: Communication fault between the outdoor and indoor units (Recoverable)
  • P0: Inverter compressor top high temperature protection (Recoverable)
  • P2: Low pressure protection (Recoverable)
  • P6: Inverter module protection (Recoverable)

Usage Features

The air conditioner is designed for user convenience with several operational features:

  • Automatic Restart: In case of a power cut during operation, the unit will automatically restart once power is restored.
  • Centralized Control: Indoor units within the same system can be controlled individually, but simultaneous cooling and heating operations are not permitted. If conflicting modes are selected, the unit running in cooling mode will stop, displaying "Standby" or "No Priority."
  • Heating Operation Characteristics: Warm air is not immediately blown out at the start of heating. There is a delay of 3-5 minutes (depending on indoor and outdoor temperatures) until the indoor heat exchanger becomes hot.
  • Defrost Function: During heating, the outdoor unit may frost. To maintain efficiency, it automatically initiates a defrost cycle (2-10 minutes), during which both indoor and outdoor fan motors stop.
  • Remote Controller: The manual includes troubleshooting for the remote controller, addressing issues like fan speed changes, signal transmission, and indicator lights.
  • Display Function: The outdoor unit's LED display shows various information:
    • Standby: Amount of indoor units online.
    • Operation: Compressor frequency value.
    • Defrost: "dF" indicator.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the air conditioner:

  • Regular Cleaning: The manual emphasizes the importance of periodic cleaning of the outdoor unit's window-shades to prevent jamming, which can lead to overheating and reduced component lifespan.
  • Filter Cleaning: For heating operation, it's advised to clean the dust filter in the indoor unit if it accumulates too much dust and rubbish.
  • Professional Service: Users are warned against inspecting or servicing the unit themselves and are instructed to contact a qualified service person for installation, improvement, repair, and maintenance. This includes cleaning the interior of the indoor unit if it becomes extremely contaminated.
  • Leakage Checks: In cases of low cooling or heating effect, checking for refrigerant leakage and recharging is recommended.
  • Environmental Conditions: The manual suggests maintaining the appliance every month and a half under poor environmental conditions, extending the cycle if conditions are good.
  • Preheating: A 12-hour preheating is imperative after turning on the power switch to warm the crankcase heat box and avoid compulsive condenser starts. Users should avoid shutting down power if the unit is expected to stop running within 24 hours.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not block air inlets and outlets.
    • Do not touch heat exchanger fins.
    • Ensure proper grounding and earth leak detector installation.
    • Do not remove the outdoor unit's fan guard.
    • Avoid using flammable sprays near the unit.
    • Ventilate rooms sufficiently if other burning equipment is used.
    • Arrange the drain hose for smooth drainage.
    • Turn off the power supply before cleaning.
    • Replace remote controller batteries when exhausted.
    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or service agent.
