Loading Procedure for 5L+ Bottles

Force lids open at both ends, push the spring-loaded knob, and insert the nylon line eye to the release mechanism pin.

Loading Smaller Samplers (1.7L & 2.5L)

Sampler Release Procedures

Correct Drop Messenger Usage

Always use the correct 400g drop messenger for the Niskin water sampler to prevent damage or malfunction.

Single Bottle Release

Hold the lower part firmly, turn the upper part clockwise, insert the wire, and release the handle to close the messenger.

Release with Centre Hanger

Use an 800g drop messenger with the centre hanger; hold lower part, turn upper part, insert wire, and lock the top.

Resolving Release Issues

Ensure vertical position for release. If the mechanism is sluggish, apply a thin oil like WD-40.

Maintenance and Storing

Cleaning and Maintenance

Wash all parts with fresh water and move the release mechanism to clear dirt. Dry all internal parts and seals before storing.

Storage Recommendations

Store with lids closed. For long-term storage, remove the rubber band to maintain its strength. PVC glue can be used for valve repairs.
