Playback from the first track
To pause playback temporarily To stop playback To turn power OFF
Auto power-Off function
If no operation key has been pressed for 3 minutes while the
unit is in the stop mode, the power is turned OFF automati-
cally to prevent battery power consumption.
Connect headphones.
Remove the rubber cap and connect the plug.
Accepts the supplied headphones, or other optional head-
phones with a mini plug.
The REMOTE terminal can be used only when the unit has
headphones with remote controller.

Release the HOLD switch when performing an operation.

The letter written on the hand in each illustration accompanying
the text indicates the position of the pressed key on the unit.
Make sure the HOLD switch has been
released.

Press to activate low-frequency compensation. This does not
operate with connection at the LINE OUT terminal.

Press for using various playback features.

Press either key to skip tracks.

STOP/OFF (7) key
Press to stop the disc, turn power OFF or recharge the unit.

PLAY/PAUSE (38) key
Press to play a disc, pause playback or switch power ON.

P.MODE/SEARCH (Play mode/Search) key
Press when using the program playback function or press together
with one of the Skip keys to initiate the fast forward or fast reverse
operation.

D.A.S.C. (Digital Anti Shock Circuit) key
Press to switch the Digital Anti-Shock Circuit which prevents sound
from skipping.

Use to open the top lid.

VOLUME control
Turn to adjust the listening level. This does not operate with
connection at the LINE OUT terminal.

How to connect the DPC-885 to a digital recording component
through the OPT. OUT jack.
1 Connect the DPC-885 to the household AC power supply through the
provided AC adaptor and play the DPC-885.
2 Set the D.A.S.C.to OFF.
3 Put the DPC-885 to pause mode.
4 Set the digital recording component ready for recording.
5 Start recording on the digital recording component.
6 Restart playback of the DPC-885.

Secure the disc by pushing a position near the center hole
until it clicks.

The total number of tracks and the total playing time of them
will be displayed.
When the 38key is pressed during playback, it pauses tempo-
rarily. Pressing the key again resumes playback.
1 Pull the OPEN buckle lightly.
2 Open the top cover.

2 Close the OPEN buckle.
When listening through headphones with remote controller, set
the volume of the main unit to around 40 and adjust with the
volume control of the remote controller.
