Thank you for purchasing a Kidde alarm.
Please read through our guide in full.
Leading authorities recommend that both ionisation and photoelectric smoke alarms be
installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur
within the home. Ionisation sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated
with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may
detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionisation
alarms. Heat alarms are useful in areas with condensation/dust/high humidity, such as
kitchens and lofts.
Heat alarms MUST ALWAYS be interconnected to smoke alarms.
