Overview

This document outlines the installation and setup of a TV frame, focusing on proper mounting, power connection, and integration of an IR repeater. The instructions are designed to guide the installer through each step, ensuring the TV and its accessories are correctly positioned and functional.

Function Description:

The primary function of this device is to provide a secure and aesthetically integrated frame for a television, allowing it to be mounted as part of a larger system. It facilitates the organized routing of power and signal cables, and incorporates an IR repeater system to ensure remote control functionality even when the TV's built-in sensor might be obstructed by the frame. The frame is designed to work in conjunction with a TV mounting bracket, ensuring stability and correct orientation of the display.

Usage Features:

  • Secure TV Mounting: The frame is designed to integrate with a TV mounting bracket, ensuring the TV is held securely. The installation process emphasizes correct orientation of the frame's flange and ensuring the mount is pushed as far back as possible for stability.
  • Organized Cable Management: The frame includes cutouts and pathways for routing the TV's power cord and the IR repeater's receiver cable. This helps maintain a clean and organized appearance by concealing cables within the frame structure. The power cord is routed through a central cutout and plugged into receptacles on the outside of the frame, while the IR repeater receiver exits through the wireway cover.
  • IR Repeater Integration: A key feature is the inclusion of an IR repeater system. This system ensures that remote control signals can reach the TV even if the TV's built-in IR sensor is obscured by the frame or other elements. The IR repeater's transmitter is placed next to the TV's light pipe, and the repeater itself plugs into a USB port on the back of the TV for power. The receiver is then placed in a visible location, allowing for seamless remote control operation.
  • Power LED/Remote Control Sensor Management: The device provides a mechanism to manage the TV's power LED and remote control sensor. A lever on the rear of the monitor allows the user to pull out or store this sensor, offering flexibility in its visibility and placement. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining a clean aesthetic or for situations where the sensor needs to be extended for better reception.
  • Compatibility with External Resources: The instructions refer to an external TV manual for more detailed information regarding the TV's operation, indicating that the frame is designed to complement existing TV functionalities rather than replace them. This ensures that users can leverage the full capabilities of their television while benefiting from the integrated frame system.
  • Adjustable TV Positioning: The TV is attached to the frame using machine screws, with specific instructions to locate it 3 5/16" from the flat of the lower traxx. This precise measurement ensures correct positioning within the frame, contributing to both aesthetics and functionality.

Maintenance Features:

  • Durable Construction: While not explicitly detailed as a maintenance feature, the use of specific tools like a cordless drill/driver, Allen bit, and Phillips bit suggests a robust installation that should require minimal ongoing maintenance once properly set up.
  • Troubleshooting Support: The document provides contact information for Kimball Customer Care, indicating that support is available for any questions concerning the installation instructions. This ensures that users can receive assistance if they encounter issues during setup or need clarification on any aspect of the product.
  • Clear Installation Steps: The step-by-step instructions, accompanied by figures, are designed to minimize errors during installation, which in turn reduces the likelihood of future maintenance issues stemming from incorrect setup. The emphasis on proper orientation and secure fastening contributes to the long-term stability and performance of the framed TV.
  • Accessibility for Adjustments: The ability to pull out or store the power LED/remote control sensor via a lever suggests that minor adjustments or troubleshooting related to remote control functionality can be performed relatively easily without extensive disassembly of the entire setup.
  • Referral to TV Manual: The instruction to refer to the included TV manual for more detail implies that routine maintenance or troubleshooting specific to the TV's internal functions would be covered by the TV manufacturer's guidelines, allowing for a clear division of responsibility between the frame and the TV itself.
