Cleanthefollowingcomponentsatleastoncedaily.Cleanmorefrequentlyifyourpharmacy
dispensesmanydust‐generatingmedicationsorifyouexperiencecountingerrors.
Materials:70%isopropylalcoholormildsoapywater(e.g.,dishsoap),lint‐freeclothor
papertowels.Donotusefacialtissue,cottonballsor
cottonswabs.
Beforestarting,turnofftheunitandunplugit.
1.Funnel
A. Removethefunnelfromtheunit.
B. Cleanoutsideandinsidethoroughlywithalcoholormildsoapywater.
2.GlassDetectorWindows
Theunit’scountingsensorsarelocatedbehindtheremovableinsidechannelassembly.
Mostcountingerrorsarecausedbypilldustaccumulatingontheedgesandcornersof
thewindowsonthechannelassembly.Cleanthewindowswell.
A. Unscrewthetworoundthumbscrewsontopoftheunit.Remove
the
squareguard.
B. Liftouttheentireinsidechannelassembly. Donotremovetheindividualglasspanes
attachedtotheinsidechannelassembly.
C. Wipeoffexcesspilldustontheinsideofthefourcleardetectorwindowswith
adrycloth.
D. Wetacleanclothwithalcoholormildsoapywaterandcleantheinsideofthefour
glasswindowsthoroughlytoremoveallremainingdustandresidue.Wipeback‐and‐
forth,notup‐and‐down.Donotpresshardasthismaybreaktheglasswindows.Do
notremovetheindividualglasspanes.
E. Foldtheclothtoformanedgetocleananyedgedustcanaccumulate,especiallycorners.
F. Wipetheglasswindowsdrywithacleancloth.Holdthewindowsuptoalighttovisually
inspecttheglassforanydust,fingerprints,orstreaks.Re
‐cleanifnecessary.Wipedry.
G. LookdowninsidetheKL1deviceandvisuallyinspectthefourinsideglasswindows
fordustorstreaks.Ifnecessary,cleanwithwaterandwipedry.
H. Replacetheinsidechannelassemblyandsquareguard.Tightentheroundthumb
screwsuntilsnug.Donot
over‐tightenthethumbscrews.
