DailyCleaningInstructions:KL15Series
Cleanthefollowingcomponentsatleastoncedaily.Cleanmorefrequentlyifyourpharmacy
dispensesmanydustgeneratingmedicationsorifyouexperiencecountingerrors.
Materials:Distilledwater,70%isopropylalcohol, mildsoap(e.g.,dishsoap),lintfreeclothorpaper
towels.Donotusefacialtissue,cottonballsor
cottonswabs.
Beforestarting,turnofftheunitandunplugit.
1.TopFunnel
A. Removethetopfunnelandchannelfromtheunit.
B. Cleanoutsideandinsidethoroughlywithmildsoapywateroralcohol.
2.GlassDetectorWindows
Theunit’scountingsensorsarelocatedbehindfourglasswindowsinsidethe
squarefunnelhole.Mostcountingerrorsarecausedbypilldustaccumulating
ontheedgesandcornersoftheglasswindows.Cleanthewindowswell.
A. Wipeoffexcesspilldustonthefourglasswindowswitha
drycloth.
B. Wetacleanclothwithmildsoapywateroralcoholandcleantheinsideof
thefourglasswindowsthoroughlytoremoveallremainingdustandresidue.
Carefullywipebackandforth,notupanddown.Donotpresshardasthis
maybreaktheglasswindows.
C.
Wipeglasswindowsdrywithcleanclothtoremovestreaks.
NOTE:Ifyourunithasacleardetectorwindowassembly(notblack),cleanwitheyeglassescleaner,

3.CountingTray(KL15e,KL15es,KL15ionly)
A. Carefullyremovetheclearplastictraycover.Cleanallpartsthoroughlywithawater
dampenedcloth(notalcohol).Wipedry.Replacethetraycover.
B. Turnthetrayover,andwipethesilversensorstripwithawaterdampenedcloth
(notalcohol).
4.TraySensor(KL15e,KL15es,KL15ionly)
A. (Locatedonthebottomoftheunitinbackofthecountingtray.)Thissensor
detectsthetray’ssilversensorstrip,tellingtheunitthatthetrayisproperlyseated.
B. Withthecountingtrayremoved,tiptheunitcarefullytoaccessthetraysensor.
Cleanwithawater
dampenedcloth(notalcohol).

Top Funnel Cleaning

Remove and Clean Funnel

Remove the top funnel and channel, then clean inside and outside with mild soapy water or alcohol.

Glass Detector Windows Cleaning

Dry Wipe of Dust

Wipe excess pill dust from the four glass detector windows using a dry cloth.

Wet Cleaning of Windows

Clean the inside of glass windows with a damp cloth and soapy water or alcohol, wiping back-and-forth.

Dry Windows to Prevent Streaks

Dry the glass windows with a clean cloth to remove any remaining streaks.

Special Cleaning for Clear Windows

Use eyeglasses cleaner, not alcohol, for clear window assemblies. Contact service if needed.

Counting Tray and Sensor Cleaning (KL15e/es/i)

Clean Tray Cover

Remove, clean the clear plastic tray cover with a damp cloth, dry, and replace.

Clean Tray Sensor Strip

Turn the tray over and clean the silver sensor strip with a water-dampened cloth.

Locate and Clean Tray Sensor

Access and clean the tray sensor on the unit's bottom with a damp cloth.

Black Lower Funnel Cleaning (KL15df)

Clean Black Funnel Interior

Unscrew and thoroughly clean the interior of the black lower funnel with soapy water or alcohol.

Clean Silver Exit Gate

Clean the silver exit gate with mild soapy water or alcohol and dry it thoroughly.

Cleaning and Troubleshooting Guide

Error Codes and Overcounts

Address error codes (E-2, E-4, etc.) and overcounts by cleaning detector windows or checking for fragments.

Undercounts and Tray Issues

Resolve undercounts by adjusting pour speed or addressing tray sensor and strip issues.

As Needed Maintenance

Clean Exit Front Guide Tracks

Remove, clean with water, and reattach the exit front to clear guide tracks.

Replace Fuse (Older Units)

For older units with power loss, replace the fuse with a 250v/300 milliamp slo-blow type.
