  A strong odor from your Klargester Water System can stem from several causes. It may be due to excessive sludge and scum buildup, requiring you to desludge the unit. It could also be caused by grease accumulation; in this case, de-sludge the unit and, if needed, hose off the discs, while avoiding excessive use of fats and oils in the future. Chemicals in the system can also cause this problem; in most cases, the unit will recover naturally. Excessive laundry use can be another cause; try to spread out laundry operations and minimize the use of biological powders and detergents.
