What to do if my Kobalt KCS 4080-06 motor runs, but the chain is not rotating?

  If the motor of your Kobalt Chainsaw is running but the chain isn't rotating, it could be due to a few reasons. The chain tension might be too tight, or there might be an issue with the guide bar and chain assembly. It is also possible that the guide bar and chain are damaged. Try re-tensioning the chain. Also, inspect the guide bar and chain for any damage.

Why is my Kobalt Chainsaw bar and chain running hot and smoking?

  The bar and chain may be running hot and smoking due to a few reasons. First, the chain tension might be too tight. Second, the chain oil tank could be empty. To resolve this, tension the chain as described in the Chain Tension section of this manual and check the oil tank.
